Just picked up my new 21 Cement. Still getting to know the truck, but noticed this right away. Why is the rear headliner just hanging in space with raw edge exposed? Such a bad look!

Yep! There is a fix though. Edge moulding for less than $20. Your gonna likely find a bunch of flaws with the truck. I have spent about 20 grand so far correcting what I consider inadequate, and IMO it still needs much more. Same as you, I have a 5th gen 4Runner and the quality is much better. Just my .02.

Funny these little flaws seem to more prevalent on the latest years of the 2.5 gens.

you’d think that they would have dialed EVERYTHING in….

Too much focus on getting the 22/Gen 3 to market?

Theres another post somewhere on here about headliner fit. I have a 21 also and have the same problem around the upper console.

I used to be in the auto industry (both Toyota and Honda) and fully understand the model changeup dynamics. The "dialed in" part is true, but there is definitely an end-of-life component where the OEM and Suppliers are trying to push out all of the OBS components. Just this headliner is very sloppy. But to be honest, if I wanted a nice interior, I would've gone for the domestics!

I would think the dealer would fix that for you. I’m glad I have a 2014

2018 here and it looks same. Its not even tucked into anything. Mine is a work truck, so I'm not looking so much back there but yes, its a weird lack of detail work.
