Stopped in at Toyota of Surprise (AZ) to try and nail down a hybrid Corolla and got to see a 22 Tundra up close for the first time. Sales rep said that the buyer fell through this morning and was available. He did mention that he believed that there is a dealer markup and another 1k for out of state purchasers. Just a FYI.

That's sad to hear they are now charging for out of state buyers and adding dealer markups. I drove 5 hrs there to purchase my 21 Tundra last year because they were the only dealer I could find not charging markups. I actually got 3k off MSRP without much haggling.

I feel like these "buyers," if they exist, fall through when the dealer adds the markup from what they thought was an MSRP sale. The cynic in me.

Should start a new thread on that concept. Would be an interesting discussion.

I’m wondering the same thing. I currently have a 21 pro. I don’t even wanna look at that thing right now lol. I resent that truck due to current gas prices. However, I do work from home. If I commuted it would be gone.

Think 2008. Just depends on how long the prices stay up.

Full size Trucks and SUVs are trending downward at the auctions the last 2 weeks....

Again, depends how long and how high the fuel prices go....

I believe it will be a long time before gas prices stabilize or come down. The Russkies don't have any credible exit path that will stop a second cold war... or even perhaps a 3rd "world" hot war. We'll eventually adapt to the loss of that supply with more production and probably more folks going to EVs and hybrids but it will take time to have any lasting effect.

I agree it would. But I guarantee after about 3 posts...it would turn in to just another crappy political debate about who caused what and why.

Yeah I hear you, it's weird. I know the Corolla hybrid is in heavy demand and many dealers in the area won't even talk to you about allocation because they have lists of people waiting. Even then, the salesman I was dealing with at Toyota of Surprise said that they don't do markups but do have the crazy priced tint as a dealer add on. He also said he'd work with me on the tint because I just walked away from a allocation of the exact arrangement I wanted at a different dealer earlier that morning. Out of principle, I refuse to pay 500 for dealer tint, especially when I will have to pay more later to get it the way I want. I feel blessed that I don't HAVE to get a vehicle right now. It was a different guy that said he believed that there was a markup. IDK.

$500 for tint isn't much more expensive than tinting here in WA state
