    I'm really interested in the under seat storage options but my goodness a 10 dollar plastic mold is really costing 250 bucks? :eek: Maybe I'm in the wrong business. It is a nice feature but gosh some of those companies are really ripping us off. I mean now I have to chose do I want to put in under seat storage or fill up the tank! :rofl:

    Don't buy it and make your own. Someone on here probably has instructions on a DIY version.

    Plenty of diy posts to search if you don’t want to go the ESP option route.

    Thanks! If you didn’t wanna go this route, you can do the single canister option. Do a search and you’ll find them. You do the same cutouts and use square tins. About the same amount of storage as the ESP. Super inexpensive.

    It’s a $59+K vehicle, buy the right part for it and be happy you did.

    @BlueRibbon4x4 nice work.

    I installed the esp storage. I have the tools and ability to build and install something of my own but what i don't have is a lot of time. So i paid more upfront for esp but it was installed in 30min and looks great.

    This looks awesome! What did you use for a template for the cut outs?

    Have you ever designed and actually built a mold?

    Our molds (micro-molding) are $30K to $90K, each.

    I am going to jump in on this conversation because I too think the product looks great but the price is a little steep.
    Based on the $30K to $90K for a mold as noted above.
    Lets take an average and say $60K since it is a broad range.
    $60K / $248 = 242 pieces before you break even.
    $90K / $248 = 363 pieces before you break even

    I understand that costs of materials and running a business also needs to be considered, but the $248 does seem a little steep.

    Thanks! I actually watched a YouTube on how to install the ESP. I guestimated where to cut, and built the box according to the cutouts.

    China can do it for $19.95 :rofl: Yes I wrote some software for a company that makes the plastic bumpers for vehicles and my goodness the size of their injection molds were 3 or 4 times the size of my truck.

    Yes I agree and I think mainly they are charging because of "what it is". If this same size and amount of plastic was for say a planter it would probably cost 30 to 40 at most. I'm mainly thinking about the amount of material used to make the product. But since it is for a NICE truck then I think the price is a bit exaggerated. It do look nice tho.

    Are there any storage options that slide out with the seats still down? I might be able to use these in a few years but until the kids seats are gone, folding seats is a pain.
