Custom Aftermarket Grille Ideas

Hey y’all! I’m new here although I’ve been using the page for lots of research. One thing I always lacked to find were people interested in building/designing their own grilles. I wanted to create the thread in order to see if anyone has the dimensions for the tundra grille i.e. cad model. I know I could go out to measure and then throw it into solidworks but I wanted to see if anyone in the community is also interested. Thanks and can’t wait to see who responds!

 

For most people without machinery or manufacturing experience, and aftermarket is going to yield better results.

I know most people are reliant on aftermarket parts but there has to be the few that actually share my interest of producing these ourselves. I’m really just looking to grab the dimensions, throw them in solid works, send them off the the metal shop, and BAN

I can't imagine anyone having those files and wanting to share them publicly, especially if there is money to be made with the product. Anybody tackling a grille has likely invested in a 3D scanner with business opportunities in mind, which makes it extremely unlikely the files are being shared. Never know, crazier things have happened. Good luck!

 

One can hope can’t they… if I have to I’ll buy cheap aftermarket and do my own measurements but would be cool to spare the hassle.

 

You'll probably have luck someone selling their old chrome throwaway on these forums here. If not one of the cheapest aftermarket OEM knock offs I could find was this:

eBay is probably your best bet but buyer beware. Also consider that their are some changes over the years to include accommodations for the TSS.

Yea for sure. Thank you. It’s cosmetic but will hopefully look sick. Might give it a shot measuring it myself. Measuring tape and angle finder T-T
