Westcott lifts

I’ll just go out and say it that I’m a total noob when it comes to all things lifts, levels, tires and wheels but I am really digging these looks on the new Tundra. No matter what stock wheel or tire combo I see, they all look insanely small and are engulfed by the truck. Bigger tires are a must even though I plan on keeping the stock 20” platinum rims.

I’ve seen a lot of talk about these westcott lifts and was wondering if anyone here actually installed them. If you have, please share your feedback on ride quality and ease of installation. As a frame of reference, I’m not a pro mechanic but I do my own tire/brake/rotor/oils changes as well as replacing the serpentine belts, alternators, sensors and starter so I’m not mechanically changed either. I haven’t done any suspension work.

Also, does anyone know which westcott kit would work for a platinum trim without AVS? The offerings they have are for SR5 or TRD packages. Thanks.

 

Never installed one but you will need a spring compressor and some heavy duty tools to do the westcott. They are working on an AVS kit, should be out soon.

 

ok thanks. I don’t want to mess around with spring under that kind of tension so I would just refer it to a shop then.

I saw that AVS kit coming out but my platinum doesn’t have it. Any idea if any of the existing kits fit?

 

If you don’t have the TRD package then you’d use the SR5 kit I’m pretty sure. Shoot an email to them to confirm.

 

Or just a car jack

look up how to compress springs with a car jack and the weight of the vehicle. It’s really easy and pretty safe. A lot safer then using a spring compressor anyway.

Can anyone with a platinum take a photo of their none AVS suspension? I’m talking to Westcott about whether their kits will fit a platinum suspension. Thanks.
