Looking to Sell This Truck Because of the Seats

I love my 2016 TRD Pro, but I hate the seats with a passion.
They are way too hard, and too flat.

These are literally the style of seat you'd find in a truck 20-30 years ago with harder foam.

I'm literally going to sell this truck and spend even more money on a boring Chevy because of the silly seats. Has anyone made these things better or come up with a solution? I've seen others complain about them

    1. Two washers under the seat front where they bolt to the frame, makes them less flat and cradle ya more.
    2. Couple new seats from another vehicle would probably be less $ than a new truck.
    3. Maybe swap in some Sequoia seats? I have both and the Sequoia ones seem more padded and supple. But I prefer the truck seats myself.

May also see if you can find a good auto upholstery shop around you and pay them a visit. They may be able to take off the seat cover and adjust the cushions / bolsters to something more your style.

Hell if I hated em as much as you, I'd rip a couple out of something else and fab, or have fabbed, custom mounts.

Think they get more comfortable with more miles. The seats in my 14 are better now with 90k on the truck. Even noticed the seats in my 1st gen Tacoma are way better now than they were new with 160k.

I’ve sold more than one vehicle over seats. Find something that is comfortable and move forward.

This truck happens to be the most comfortable vehicle I have owned.

The seat jacking just is not the only issue with my seats, not even close to the big one for me.

The seats are so damn hard that your butt falls asleep is my problem with them.

Luckily I do not have the big tank though so I only need to suffer in between fill-ups on long drives and I just tough it out on shorter drives.

I have come to the ultimate conclusion regarding seats due to recent testing in the last 5 years.

    Some people have Toyota bodies.
    Some people have Honda bodies.

All of my family absolutely have Toyota bodies.

Honda seats are like sitting on a hard cardboard chair.
    Just god awful.

I love my Tundra and 4runner 5th gen seats.

All I remember about domestics are that the seats are like a worn out sunkin in couch and last about 1 year.
    They also break a lot.

I would check out the seat jackers or something like Sequia seats, even custom modded seats.

But I completely understand, a seat that hurts makes the vehicle not worth driving.
But unlike other brands, getting rid of a Toyota over seat pains is crazy.

Just mod them or swap them.
No matter how nice another brands seat may be, you won't spend much time in it with the truck always broke down or recalled.

Hated mine as well. Swapped to factory fabric covers and that helped a lot but did't care for the look as much. added cotton batting, sliced foam, etc etc. After quite a few miles they were adequate. Certainly not comparable to chevy seats. or sequoia seats.

problem is with chevy you get leaky rear windows, self destructing AFM, the ONLY truck on the planet with a more dated interior than 2nd gen Toyotas and a tiny rear seating area.

I’ve spent 24,500 miles in the seat of my truck. Lots of 11-13hr drives. The seats are awesome. I never feel sore or stiff after long drives.

My job lends itself to a sedentary lifestyle, and I used to have severe lower back problems and all kinds of discomfort in various chairs. I started working out and taking care of myself, and to my own amazement, all the issues are gone. I thought that when my lower back issues started (late 30s) I was just stuck with them. Thankfully not!

I had a 2015 and added Katzkins with the perforated centers. When I got my 17 the first thing I noticed was how thick and stiff the leather is. The Katz in the 15 beat the Pro leather easily.

Not high on my mod list but I have thought about swapping it down the road. I did add seat jackers and heated seats which I like.

To each their own, I can’t stand the new Chevy seats, my dad has had an ltz, high country, now a high trim gmc and I think they feel like garbage, love my tundra seats. Best seats ever for me though are my wife’s 2015 armada, it’s like a la-z-boy.

Katzkin leather or more Pro leather butt time? For me, Katzins helped a ton. My cloth seats were terrible.

Another vote for the seat jackers. I just installed mine over the weekend and it makes the seats a lot more comfortable.

If the seats are already comfortable to you, do the seat jackers make them truly sublime?
