Lumber thieves giving us a bad name

I'm 99.9% sure that's a Tundra in the photos. Times are tough and people are out here stealing lumber! That would suck to catch a felony case over some wood.

All thieves are scumbags, but you can't blame us or Toyota for making a reliable getaway truck.

 

No, they are not (giving us a bad name). They are just thieves.

 

Friend of mine talked to the primary contractor who was building a new subdivision about taking the 'trash' lumber and was given the ok to do so, he was amazed at what they considered trash and built a shed to store what he got. He plans on building a home now.

 

The waste at a new subdivision is enormous. The amount of lumber thrown away is unbelievable!!!

 

Tell me about it, I am a county building inspector and in new developments all day long, the amount of lumber good lumber that gets tossed into the dumpsters is really out of this world, not to mention the lumber, siding, trim boards and sheet goods that just get dumped on the ground and walked over and drove on just makes me sick.. tons of 2x4’s used to brace walls only later to be removed and tossed is horrible.

 

The guys installing the wood and sheet materials are not also buying and paying for those materials. Big disconnect that is extraordinarily difficult to manage. So just build the waste into the price and not worry about it.

 

My dad used to go through the dumpsters downtown on his way home from work and bring home any lumber he found.
