It has become ridiculous how people come up with these claims. Bull shit! Negotiated with the dealer to source a new Tundra, and they took the old one back? They are throwing in other stuff to top it off? Why would a dealer do that, that is a Toyota issue to buy back the car.

It almost seems there is a paid campaign against Toyota to try to bash the Tundra. All the YouTube is full of these “what I hate about the Tundra” videos. It is becoming funny.

Can someone also update the Google list of wastegate failures, if in fact there are more than 10-20 cars out there with failures?

 

I count three. It is a concerted effort to diminish the reputation of the Gen 3 Tundra with the goal of bringing down the prices.

For the record those other people's experiences don't count.

 

Never heard of a Tundra with a transmission issue. The Japanese Aisin brand is bulletproof.

 

For some reason RAM is going to be switching to Allison from their in house gearbox and Aisin in the HO motor.

 

My new Gen 1 2000 Tundra ex-cab 4wd blew the trans at about a year in -- 12000 miles.
