Hey guys this truck is a work in progress! I did a build thread earlier but I know you guys have some great ideas! Feel free to drop them below. One of the next things will be headlights and a front bumper!

You can move the thread, but I am still expecting the removal of the brush guard and subsequent picture with your color matched grille surround visible.

    Tick tock ;)

Competent moderation will merge all your posts into one and stick that in the 2nd Gen Builds forum instead of this one. You could save them the trouble and post over there.

If I ever choose to remove the chrome I’ll wrap it black. The front end is gonna go though no way I’m wrapping that thing. Tires are 35”x 12.5 im definitely not going any bigger but I’m considering a regear

Wait. The moderators are now deleting threads with chrome content? I know the brush guard was kinda polarizing, but dman

I am definitely in the minority here, but actually appreciate some chrome on a black truck.

I also know the chrome on my grille surround will not last forever, and I will have to deal with that.

Haha the chrome was to much to handle. You’re right about the chrome on the surround, it’s actually why I ended up replacing mine, OG started peeling. I like real chrome it doesn’t get as damaged as painted surfaces

I for one dig the brush guard and think the chrome and black gives it a classic look. It's not an exact McFly truck because it's a Tundra, but you can absolutely see where the inspiration was taken from. Anyway, the brush guard fits with the other chrome highlights. If you wanted to temper the chrome a bit you could always get it powder coated, or even just scuff it up and paint part of it. You do you and ignore the hate. As long as you like the truck, everyone else can get bent.

It’s hard to go for the classic look on a 2012 tundra haha, I figure the chrome helps out. I don’t want to black it out until the theming is more detailed although we’ve included details. The brush guard is gonna go to a new home within the coming days

Morimoto is pretty cool ive thought about them but I’m scared of spending $700 to experience leaks. I am running 35” KO2s right now, badges are hit or miss.

They have 5 year warranty and from what I've read on the forums, they have honored it and pretty good about replacing them if any issues arise. I took the plunge and bought it but I was on your boat too, quite pricey but given the other options, I rather pay the morimoto price and get the quality and warranty.

I have $89 headlights right now they work and that’s about it. Nothing special to them, they started peeling after about a year. I’ll be in the market for a set, I might try out ANZO usa I won a set of their taillights and they were alright, only had them for about 1 or 2 months now

That's the thing. The other cheaper alternatives don't last and I don't want to deal with buying and uninstalling and installing more than once. I've had the morimotos for 3 months so far and are still outstanding, got it for 25% on black friday.
