Are we saying something loose on light wiring side or disposal? I'm 95% sure it's been like this since we moved in, before the new disposal. When we redid the kitchen we didn't mess with any wiring but we did have to demo the old sheetrock.

I am [slowly] coming to a realization.

For 2 years I've been driving the Tundra.
For 2.5 years I've been planning my Tundra build.
For 1.5 years I've been considering what I'd replace the Tundra with were I to sell it.

    Here's the realization part.
    1. I like to build stuff. That's why I'm always planning a build or evolving one already in progress. This is hardly news and only mentioned here because it's relevant to my second bullet-point above.
    2. I just don't love the Tundra. I know that's blasphemous around here, but it's the truth. I loved my T4R. I loved my e36m3. I love my 911. If the Tundra were balled up on my way home tonight, I'd not buy another...ever. I think this is why I'm constantly looking for ways to [drastically] change it or replace it.

This begs the questions: Do I really need to love it? Can I live with it, and myself, if I don't love it? If no, when do I pull the plug?

I'm thinking something in the box. You gotta pull the switch to check it, so pull the wires and check them to. Check the easy shit first, then get the ladder and fuck with the light if that doesn't get it.

I don't necessarily "love" my truck, but I'd be sad to see it go. I don't want anything new either. It fell in my lap and has been in my family since it was bought so here it stays.

i love my white buell. Everything else is flawed. At first i liked the titan alot more than the tundra, but the tundra is growing on me. It wont ever have 400 hp or 50” of suspension travel, but its decent to drive, can haul anything i need, likes cheap gas, and doesnt have all the nannies.

Not an electrician so my 2¢ are more like 0.5¢ but I'd start with figuring out if they're on the same circuit. Can't see thru drywall, and it doesn't help solve the problem necessarily, but if they're on the same physical circuit I feel like it'd explain a lot or at least make it clear what the possibilities could be?

I agree it's something probably not in the box. Something not tightened down or electrician used the push-in provisions on the back of the switch which always tend to loosen up or get flaky over time. Or didn't get a good bite when tying things together, or used the push-in style wire nuts that do about as well as the push-in provisions on the back of the switches over time.

I just have this sneaky suspicion with the light being over the sink and the two probably sharing a box, whoever installed it first or was in there last probably daisy-chained/piggy-backed the two from the same circuit. If the switches are in same boxes, maybe they fed into the light box, then ran out of the light box over to the dishwasher or whatever with flex/BX. If in different boxes, maybe they fed into one box's switch, then teed off that switch then over to the other box and switch, then down to the disposal.

I don't know if it's normal to have to address some issue at least once or twice a year on a 20 year old vehicle but I feel like my other vehicles has presented far fewer issues in their lifetime.

However, my other vehicles haven't aged more than 15 years before I got rid of them.

I think you know the answer. You want to love it, you're a car guy and cars are more than just transportation for you. For whatever reason this one just isn't it for you. You've tried to do things to it so you'll love it, but it's not happening.

I'd think more about what you want from the other car.

I'd pull the plug now while prices on trucks are stupid high and you mentioned you have cars come through the dealership lot so you can wait for the right one to come along.

I had a friend who changed cars every two year, it was just his thing. Some made fun of him, but those same people bought very expensive guns or fishing poles and drove $50k trucks while he bought and sold $5,000 cars. Maybe you're not a monogamous car guy. That's fine. It's your life and money, live it how you want.

I’ll be counterpoint. I didn’t appreciate my Tundra while I owned it the first time. I enjoyed it but didn’t love it. I thought I could always buy another truck or rent any truck I wanted.

Then Tundras got bigger. Then regular cabs died off. Then new trucks breached $40k.

I wanted my old truck back for 3 or 4 years before it happened.

These things are special and unique. Outside of fuel economy they have very minimal downside. They aren’t excessively large, they are mild mannered, roomy, and most of all reliable.

The guy I bought my truck from, literally goes thru different cars every 3-5 months. Super strange, I stopped trying to recognize him while driving “bro I saw you driving, truck looks great!!”
    “I didn’t even see you?”
“Oh I was in the Camry”
“The Camry? What happened to the land cruiser?”

    This.
I love driving my Tundra more now than when it was new. Eventually I'll get a second gen because I want 4WD and because then I can give this truck to my son.
But, don't drive something you don't love. That's like sleeping in a shitty bed and then putting it in your bedroom.

Spent the last couple of hours trying to figure out what was causing all the GFCI breakers in the house to pop. Turns out the outside GFCI circuit is wired into it as well. Opened up the conduit box and it was filled with water.

Quick drain and everything is back to normal. :woot:

So - the Solo lower arms are a given. Bigger tires on my truck are a given. Fitting my tires on the 4th Gen 4R is where my head is at now. They looked impossible with my wheels, but it seems fairly doable on the truck's oem wheels.

Bought my plane ticket to dfw on the 18th. If all goes well this should be an 8 hour process. Give or take. I need to research how to transport a firearm on a plane now. And I'll have to bring my riding gear. Hmm. I've got some planning to do.

The airline should have it on their website, something like unloaded, checked in and in an approved box.

Other than my tundra being a gas addict, it’s been the best addition to the fleet simply because it’s reliable, ultimately it was cheap (I’m like 10k into the truck total). It does everything I ask of it. It’s very much my second favorite vehicle right behind my 01 Tacoma… that hasn’t ran in 6 years. All the other tacos just keep popping up and I keep trying to relive that experiance of the 01.. since when it’s done it’ll NEVER be like it originally was, but will be 100% what I wanted (more powe, etc) but it’ll be so much invested I won’t be willing to beat on it at all like I use to.

the tundra is the heavy hauler
    the 01 is the toy,
    The 02 is the beater
The 98 is the time machine (it smells like a new truck still)
The 95 will likely be subject to running for parts and stuff where I need a bed, but not the tundra levels of space. Aka save gas.
These 3 trucks all owe me nothing. I can sell at 3 at a pretty large profit when all is said and done. But I probably won’t. In the near future at least

Truck was 300 bucks. ~4500 all said and done in body work and paint etc. then the 200 dollar cap and a 200 dollar paint match. The rest has been bought on sale and what not. Buying a wreck with a clean title can truely save you tons of money. Hell this 95 taco is going to be ~5k all said and done to get back on the road and looking
    decent

The 2002 Tacoma is $1350 in the book right now. Im guessing 4-6k all said and done for it. And most of that will be suspension and having the rocker replaced. The frame it’s getting is free and it’s coming to me in exchange of a valuable but useless to me transmission. So for the frame so far I’m $0 invested

~1k for the frame swap parts. Bastard leaf pack is the plan too for a small lift while it’s apart I’ll do the gaskets on the engine and shit too

Well, that's well played. And awesome. I would love to have a fleet like that at the moment. I paid killer (good) new price in 05'. Took care of it, so maybe another 2-3K. But this last year, 10K easy. I never did the math but I'm a decent estimator.

I saw that one. Can you keep a full mag in the same box or does it need to be unloaded and in an ammo carrier in the same box?

This brings to me two questions.

    1) Why was it filling up with water in the first place?
    2) Why is it tripping other GFI circuits to pop? I was taught ideal scenario is having a GFI on the 1st outlet on your run, which would then protect all outlets upstream. The one time I failed to listen to this, and installed a 2nd GFI outlet upstream, that one would trip the circuit a couple of times per year.

Wait - your 1GT doesn't have a salvage title? How'd that work, I thought it was a rollover? Or did they just sell it w/o reporting to the insurance company?

Several years ago their policy required you to have to pull the gun out right there in the airport and rack the slide to show it was empty. Talk about making everyone uncomfortable. I had to do that twice. You could tell the airline employees were obviously nervous. They changed the policy after some idiot neglegently discharged his gun and hit an airline employee. Buy a good lockbox that comes with a cable to anchor to the bag. That's what I have. You'll go to the airline desk and tell them you need to declare a firearm.

Water was getting behind the box and into it where it’s mounted to the vinyl siding. I’ll have to use some putty to deflect water from getting inside since it’s not completely sealed in the back.

Not knowing how exactly how it was wired, I’m guessing the downstairs bath was first in the circuit, outside outlet 2nd and upstairs bath 3rd.
