I am just feeling like based off some of the comments and everything going for a newer model year (something closer to 2014) I will get something a little bit nicer and closer to my Tacoma's condition. Also a lot of the issues they noticed over the years would be fixed so buying a 2014 it should be closer to the best version of the truck right?

I think you'd have to be touched in the head to trade your 55k mile Tacoma but what do I know?

That Tundra looks to be in good shape and 100k is really nothing for these trucks. The trade deal is somewhat reasonable but I wouldn't say you're getting a great deal. As mentioned before, they need to profit somehow also. If I was in your shoes, I would have a hard time trading in your Tacoma also. What is the reason that you want a Tundra? Do you need the space, more towing capability? Or you just want a Tundra because you are bored of the Tacoma?

Have you tried Carmax to see what they offer for your Tacoma? Maybe you can sell to them? Or try to sell to private party that will appreciate the upgrades you did and pay little more. I know selling privately can be more hassle but you can get more for it. You are paying for "convenience" if you sell/trade to the dealer for that Tundra. Good luck.

We really need interior cab space, would enjoy higher towing capabilities, and of course a v8 is definitely just a want haha. We have a baby on the way, and two dogs so the Tacoma just doesn't work. I decided not to buy the truck and I think it's already sold, but I don't really mind I think I'm going to list my tacoma privately and see if I can get the high price that they're fetching. Once I have cash I'll add a few thousand and try and get a 2014-2016 in the 100k mile range. I'm not too worried about MPG's as we drive my wife's car for mostly everything and honestly it's only about a 3-4 mpg difference from my tacoma so it really isn't much difference. It's kind of what you get when you have a truck and to me the reliability makes up for the bad gas mileage.

The Tundra crewmax is definitely way to go if you need interior space. I also had a Tacoma years ago and got a Tundra now. It's so much better for the whole family and road trips.

Yeah our camping trips would be a lot nicer with a tundra. The back seat of the Tacoma works fine honestly, but is just too small for a baby and two dogs to be comfortable. Our Highlander is great and we will use it 90% of the time, but for the few times we need to use the truck or are going camping the space of the tundra would be really nice. We are also looking at getting a camper and the Tacoma is just not meant to tow a camper.

Please do a lot of research before buying a trailer....depending on what you are thinking about a Tundra might not fit the bill either.

What we're looking at we could do with the Tacoma...it just wouldn't be comfortable haha. Tundra will be just fine!

Dave Smith has a decent reputation as well. I'm not sure where you live, but I know multiple people who will drive over there from Seattle to buy trucks.
