Just bought a nice 2008 doublecab Tundra with a reg bed. Even though the shocks look to be brand new, I am getting a lot of bounce out of the suspension. What shocks do you all recommend without breaking the bank.

I bought a Tacoma with same issue. Went with a kyb shock, feels nice and tight now, makes for a good commute.

I have Billstein 6112 front and 5160 back just recently installed. I like it but it’s going to run around $1000-$1200 and then additional cost for installation unless you do it alone. It just depends on what you want to do with your truck. For me the Billstein 6112 made the most sense. I don’t do much if any true off-roading but the roads I drive are rough. I wanted a good upgrade so I went with them. I like them so far.

I did the same on my tundra, but went with 5100 in rear since I’m mainly highway. I was really impressed how different it is from the stock bs Toyota puts on the platinum. What setting are you at?

On the 2008 I switched the bed bounce bushing to the TSB that toyota came out with in 2010 or 2012 ....look in to it it helps with the bed bounce but does not take it away completely

Are the Bilsteins stock height shocks? Not looking at lifting or lowering.

The 6112, are up to 2.5”. But they do make stock replacements which will work great.

Yea not a bad shock, very similar to Bilstein. Both will be a nice firm ride with good handling. I’ve never run rancho but have always had great luck with Bilstein.

You can set the height adjustable bilsteins at "stock height" for the front.
They sell a matching 5100 for the rear for 0-1" height.
That could be a low cost solution.

I recently installed the Eibach Pro Sport shocks to level my truck. They are a very similar product to the Bilstein 5100 adjustable.
They too can be set at stock height.
I love the ride. Nice and firm but not harsh.

I found the matching rear shocks on Amazon for $60 each. I thought that was a great deal so I'll be purchasing those soon.

I think Toytec has the best inventory and all of the info for each product is spot on.
    Check them out.

Can I just go with Bilstein 5160's in back and stay stock at front? I have RAS installed (1" lift through RAS ) and want to get max out of back suspension for towing or would Bilstein 5100 be better match? No off-roading but lots of shitty bumpy roads.

I just recently put 5160's on the back with a stock front. The 5160's can support up to a 1-1/2 inch lift and I believe helped with a lot of the bounce that can accompany the stock rear suspension.
