Piped in, fake engine sound

Between "enhanced engine noise", lack of front end recovery points, and no easy way to get into the bed when the gate is down without spending $$ on an accessory that should come standard on a truck costing north of $50K, it seems Toyota no longer makes trucks. They make luxury SUV's with a plastic truck bed slapped on them.

Don't get me wrong, I like my '22 overall, but Toyota should've done the following:

Made a more efficient V8 and paired it with the 10 speed tranny.

Put tow hooks on off road packages at the very least. Front end recovery points are like seatbelts. Most likely, you'll never need them. But when you do, you better damn well have 'em.

Stolen Chevy/GMC's rear bumper design - it's simple, cheap, and effective.

Oh yeah, and chrome trim should be an optional package. Most folks these days, myself included, would like the trim either black or color matched.

 

Does not sound bad how it sound with the hammer down?

At least it wont sound broken when the turbos fail

It’s not really loud or all that noticeable. I think it sounds really good.

But if I want to listen to something that sounds good from my speakers, I want it to be the music of my choice, not fake car sounds.

 

What has this world come to when we have to pipe in fake engine noise in a TRUCK!.

 

Well, a real engine with such power may cause all the chrome to rattle.

All TTV6's sound like a 1978 Datsun B210. If you bought one you should own the sound. Your purchase is a vote to kill the V8 so you shouldn't be allowed to use the sound of one to cover up the ridiculous sound of the crap engine you bought.

 

Well, technically. I bought my Tundra January 27th, so I heard it on the test drive. It's been in the service department since! I believe I'm at 29 days of ownership but haven't brought it home yet.

Its not a bad sound, but if it's fake, I just don't need/want it.

My wifes lexus has that, theres essentially a volume control on the dash under the steering wheel which you can turn all the way to off

Maybe Toyota can pipe in sound of a lemon squeezer? Because your truck is probably a lemon at this point.

 

I think only the JBL system has it.

 

It's a couple days from meeting our state's lemon law, but it doesn't matter. I have been offered to undue the sale or get a new allocation if I want.

I would take them up on either option, with taking that truck back being an unacceptable outcome.
