In the engine, throttle or transmission. Thanks for narrowing it down, Toyota.

I hate to hear that. Hopefully Toyota will get all of these issues worked out before releasing the '23's.

Failing turbos are not first model year issues. These are bad turbos and most likely a vendor issue.

And you don't think that issue will be solved in successive years?

I think they will get it fixed in upcoming years, turbos aren't new items, but their vendor likely cut a corner somewhere. I'm worried I'm going to wait 4-6 weeks for turbo 1 to get fixed on the left, only to get 200mi down the road and have the right one that probably was built in the same batch fail.

That would make me a little anxious. A person doesn't buy something new just so it can be parked. You got that little taste of something good and then it turns into a Lucy with the football situation.

I would think they will set you up with a ride while the repair happens and I hope once its repaired you are good to go for a long time.

Why not? They sourced new parts, such as motor, turbo, probably trans. My 21 didn’t come with a turbo on the 5.7. So I’m imagining that they had to go out and source those parts. Hence, first model year issue.

Because turbos are not new. The ‘21 with failing power steering is not new but bad parts. Same with the ‘22 turbo. Bad parts not a new model design issue.

But yet your latest year of last gen has had two recent recalls due to part defects so it has nothing to do with what year of production we're in if it is a part defect and NOT a design defect. Supply defects happen in every year man. If there was a design defect in the first year, sure, call it first year issues. This is not a design defect.

Just because you and some old guard are having emotional issues with losing the v8 and have the opinion that the v6tt is worse doesn't make this a design problem either.

Ultimately it's Toyota's responsibility to insure that any parts sourced are meeting their quality standards.

I think you’re reading way more into my post than what’s there. Technology moves along, if v6 is the future, so be it. I’ll roll with what ever they put out, as long as the quality stays forefront…..
