Jacked up weather headed in - pics of golfball sized hail on the news. The Shiny TuRD lives on the driveway.

 

15 deg. here with 25 mph winds. Feels like 2 deg. outside. Getting down to 6 deg. tonight with the same winds. Had about an 1” of snow today too.

 

Mine lives outside too but luckily that doesn’t happen in our neck of the woods. I’d be panicking to cover it somehow.

 

Been snowing here all day too, looks like winter is back for the West.

 

Maybe this silliness would work. I really just want to move out of suburbia where I can have a shop I can park it in. Between bigger cars and smaller garages, 2-car garages just aren't.

Any hail bigger than about a dime sounds like basketballs when they hit the roof. The storm came through at 3:30a. and dropped about 5 minutes worth, so I got up to at least confirm the sun roof wasn't leaking. It might not have been that solid or that big - - no apparent damage to the house or truck. We'll see when it's clean and dry.

 

A hail burrito. Nuts. You supposed to put that on every time you pull into the driveway?

 

When hail is on its way, Texas newscasts typically add many more minutes of weather per news period. So instead of airing the worst yokel they can find telling me about the 'loose donkeys they seent wanderin around in them woods' when a fence got cut, or some politician being a politician, they add 30 minutes of 'go hide in the storm cellar'.

That burrito might help for hail in Massachusetts, but I can't imagine a 1.5lb Texas hailstone being that concerned about a baloon.

Story time...
I bought a 2001 (or maybe it was 2002?) Solara. Had it 4 days. Four.Days. and a hailstorm took every single quarterpanel, both doors, the bumpers; and smashed the sun roof, windshield, and the back window. Insurance did NOT total it, probably due to it being brand new. It was in the shop more than a month, and when I got it back there was paint overspray all over the leather, dash, and even the headliner. The shop and the insurance company both shrugged. One of my top disappointing experiences with a car, and something that gives me a facial tic at even the mention of hail coming close.

 

I thought it looked more like an inflatable truck condem. You know to keep it safe.
