I’m too lazy to update but there’s quite a few dealers on there that are charging that says they aren’t or now they’re charging more than before.

    it’s just getting worse

My dealer was hoping to get a few on the allocation they just received notice on... but no dice. My guess in March 1st we see the info go live. Want to know something crazy, current transit time from Texas-Idaho (without inspection hold delays) is 2 months... ouch

A friend of mine placed an order for a 2022 Camry TRD in the first week of last September. He got word yesterday that the build is slated for next week and delivery should be late March. haha

Does anyone know how long it takes to build a 2022 Tundra once a dealer is notified that the vehicle is in production?
Not concerned about destination and delivery time as that can vary.
    Thanks.

I don’t understand this guy, why buy it if he was not satisfied with it? Did he not look at the package and features that were coming with his vehicle? I feel like this guy is making videos to just complain.

I agree. While the quality isn't acceptable, I feel like most of these things should have been noticed before buying it and either not buying it or telling them to make it right before it left the lot.

Well to be fair, if you wanted one already, you had to buy it site unseen. Or mostly unseen. It’s not like many, to this point, have dealers with them on the lots they can test drive and look at. It why many choose to wait a few years so the early adopters can be the sacrificial lambs.

Another build with a westscott designs 3/1 lift. Looks good with 35s.

Strange that a few of the aftermarket wheels with “zero” offset have what looks to be about an inch of poke on a 2022 tundra. I like my wheels to be stanced out a bit, but not too much or starts looking a little bro-ish (no offence if that’s your style! To each their own!). The offset in this video looks to be just about right.

So when looking at new wheels I always thought zero offset would be flush with the fender. However, one of the guys where I live has 0 offset fuel rims on his 2022 SR5 that he just picked up, and they poke waay out. About 2.5” from the fender (probably closer to 3”).

As mentioned the rim width and a lot of other factors go into how a particular offset will look on your ride (it’s kinda why I applaud some of our forum members posting their mods for us to see and decide).

I wasn’t considering 0 either until I saw a really nice one on here last week so now it’s in the running with the right width in 17’s.

Another thing to also remember is that as you lift a truck with 0 offset it tends to make that ‘poke’ look much less aggressive and gives a much better stance (in my opinion on this last one).

…The truck tends to look a lot less tall and ‘skinny’ but tall and ‘squatting’ with that wider area under it if you get my drift

The guy talking in the video was wrong about wheel setup on this truck. The tires are actually 295/70r18. Not 35x12.5. And in description says it’s 18x9.5 with a +12 offset.

Yes I caught that too. Was thinking of doing a 35x11.5-20s instead of 12.5's in order to not use the spacers in the front as they did. Can anyone tell if using 11.5" tires would be flush or even be inside the fender?

Just placed my order for a 1794 4x4 Wind Chill Pearl with Advanced Package and tonneau cover.
Dealership is telling me to expect to wait 12-14 weeks for delivery.

Really dumb question but how do you place a order? I thought dealers were just getting allocations.

I’m not sure how the dealership orders it on their end, but the salesperson said they are only doing orders on Tundras. He told me to go online and create my ideal build and send it to him. I paid a deposit and he said to expect 12-14 weeks.
Based on everything I’m reading here I doubt it is a true custom build, but probably them somehow just waiting to be allocated that same build I’m guessing.

That sounds more like it. Toyota doesn’t do builds / orders like everyone else. The dealers get what they get. Best they can do is trade for what you’re looking for.

Probably more of a reservation than an order. That dealership is expecting the truck you want and can make a few changes to it to make it what you want.

Man it didn't take long for YouTube to pass the new Tundra by. I'm only seeing tons of new Nissan videos now. Most of them are all decked out and mean looking.

We lucked out. Walked onto the dealers lot to check out colors and they had the exact 2022 Tundra SR5 CrewMax with TRD premium off road and convenience packages already allocated to them. We paid sticker and only had to wait a few weeks for delivery.
Biting the bullet now and buying the TRD Running boards because cannot find any good options available. Hoping to get $200 discount from dealer on the boards.

I finally got to drive one this weekend. I think you will be impressed with the premium package. The one I drove was a stock SR5, but they had a premium off road and it was a lot nicer, but it was sold. MSRP is about as good as you can get now.

Realistically, what can we expect out of the engine with a custom tune? Is there a sticky thread up yet for performance on these things?

Big boy rules apply if you plan to mod your vehicle. If being on your own for repairs is not acceptable then stay bone stock.

All the bitching and whining from guys mad a manufacturer won’t warranty a vehicle that is modified just PID’s them as a moron. Yes tuning your turbocharged engine will void the warranty, if you blow it up that’s your fault. Yes it will void your entire power train warranty. Lifting your truck with non Toyota parts can void the warranty on your suspension components, cv joints, axles etc and it probably should.

The manufacturer spent many millions of dollars developing everything, testing, validating, and repeating all the above. They’re warranting what they know in their testing works. If you change it that is on you.

Now the Moss-Magnussen Warranty Act does protect consumers from a manufacturer voiding your warranty on unrelated things. Like you tune your truck and the window regulators fail isn’t a valid reason for the manufacturer to void warranty on your window regulator.

No shit dude. Im not looking for a lecture in ways I can void a warranty. if you have some input on what the engine might do I’d like to hear it. if you don’t then move along.
