I feel your pain. I also love the Red, but I can't do that cream interior. It looks nice but I use a truck and would never be able to keep that clean. MGM, Blueprint and Silver look nice too but I just can't decide. Need to see them in person.

Thanks for verifying that. I'll have to see it in person to decide, but was not looking hoping for a matte finish.

I agree piano black is just off there. Probably something a wrap could fix. I actually like the look and am looking for my local guy to wrap it

Build date 1/12 and picked up my SR5 last week on 2/9. First mod - new shoes! Did not require a leveling kit.

Black Rhino Odessa wheels and my old Cooper AT3 295/70/18 from my 2020 Tundra. Used a +12 offset. Just had to cut some fabric that was protruding out from the wheel well, but other than that, nothing was cut. No rubbing.

Did the offset/tire combo require you to remove the front mudflaps or you didn’t have them to begin with?

Just picked it up last night, 2022 Tundra 4x4 Limited, pretty loaded out, JBL Pano roof, LED lights, wireless charging, factory tonneau, predators, TRD off road package etc. Went with the limited so I didn’t have to mess with the air suspension when lifting it.

Came out of a 2020, definitely a huge interior upgrade as far as features go. So far only drove it home, nice truck.

It will end up with a lift kit, 34-35’s, and I’m blacking out all the non matching items (chrome around windows, grill surround, rear bumper), or wrapping them to paint match.

Can someone please school me on why “payload” numbers are so important? I can’t imagine a difference of a couple of hundred pounds is going to make to someone buying a truck…I have yet to see anyone using a scale to weigh what they’re putting in the bed.

The only time I see that come into play is for towing capabilities other than that if it will fit in the bed haul it.

I hauled a pallet of ceramic tile in my Taco and my front tires barely touched the ground. But it had leaf springs so the only thing that concerned me that day was popping the rear tires. Nothing was damaged in the process. Okay new leaf spring rear, my 3/4 ton Dodge company trucks have had coil spring rears for a long time. Same thing I hauled full pallets of damp bark mulch that greatly exceeded specs and never damaged anything.

Points being if you are just hauling someone a short distance in the bed , forget the numbers if it will fit haul it. That’s why a truck has a bed.

Sorry but I am old school because I am an old man, I have had trucks with less than 1k miles and needed cinder blocks for a project/job and threw them in there and scratched the heck out of interior of bed. My thought need to haul bricks and when I get a spray in liner they will sand the inside of the bed anyway.

A 1l2 ton truck will never have a payload sticker indicating that it's capable of handling 3/4 ton in the bed.

Not quite true. My FIL’s 2016 SuperCrew shortbed EB F150 4x4 says 1838 lbs (well over 3/4 ton) on the door jam. In fact, there are Ford and GM crew cab 4x4 trucks with over 2k lbs (1 ton) of available payload. I would still buy the truck that I did; I just wish Toyota didn’t underrate the Tundra’s payload.

I’ll try and make this simple.
Because people pull campers etc. that have with tongue weights between 600-1000 lbs. It’s not that everyone wants to put a ton of shale in the bed.
So, if my camper weighs a measly 7k, the 1/2 ton pulls it easy! But, here comes the rub. The tongue weight is 900lbs. Family of 4 & dog weigh 600lbs, and you have a cap on your truck that weighs 200 lbs. They all are considered payload and in this scenario equal 1700lbs. Can the Tundra pull this easily, yes. Are you over payload, yes. And you didn’t even load anything in the bed yet.
I don’t want to buy a 3/4 ton that drives like….a 3/4 ton so that I can pull my camper, boat, box trailer etc. when this is only 5% of my driving.
IMO a 1/2 ton will accomplish this task as long as you do not exceed your axle ratings.

    There you have it!

So if it’s over the “payload” and you know it’s over the “payload” and you’re going to do it anyway I ask again, why are people so concerned about what it says on a door sticker?

Because that # can vary between 1000lbs & 1500lbs depending on model & options for the Tundra.

Excited to just get this photo so far! Geez
    53C0204B-F672-4211-8152-4C7A8D667C0A.jpg

My plan is to change out suspension to Kings, Diamondback cover, @KB Voodoo rack with tonneau cover brackets (rack and tent go on and off like a back pack for camping), and adding my PullKitchen. Going to build it up like my Tacoma but Tundra style. Finally going to fully stretch out my legs! Woot
    D52CBFB9-21EC-4575-993A-54B19F2EB878.jpg 04A26366-4503-4946-B428-FEC0925177D9.jpg

I made a thread on TacomaWorld about my rack over Diamondback cover and the fitment. Loved this set up.
