Center Console Padding

Personally I find the top of the center console to be hard and uncomfortable. I have always had elbow problems and the long drives in the Tundra seem to make it worse. I did a search but did not find much. For now I use a camp pillow but that's a temporary solution. Has anyone gone to an upholstery shop and had the center console recovered with a bit more padding. It looks pretty easy to do, but looks can be deceiving.

 

Upholstery shop is the best long-term solution most likely. I have seen these pillows/pads mentioned a few times, may be worth a shot:

I've recovered mine with genuine black leather and added 1/4" high density foam underneath. Used scissors to cut the foam and a hacksaw blade to bevel the edges of the foam. Used a cheap chip brush to apply contact cement for the foam to the console plastic then the leather to the top of the foam. Feels so much better now!

It probably took me about 2 hours to complete.

 

I like that BC, it fills in the indention in the middle too it looks like.
