2019 5.7 with stock exhaust. Question is, if I replace the stock muffler with a borla muffler do you think it would negatively impact my low end torque? I want to keep the single out stock look.

Although the Tundra mufflers are huge, I doubt an aftermarket muffler like Borla will restrict airflow and reduce any low end torque. I just installed a dual exhaust Flowmaster system and directed the pipes out the sides.

I think the borla would be a great option. The ProXS (p/n: 40439) seems like it would fit as perfectly as any universal aftermarket option would. However, the reduced back pressure could very well result in loss of torque. That’s a tough thing to predict though.

I have a Borla ProXS (40429) on my 2019 Tundra. It provides a good V8 sound and rumble. There is some drone in the cab at around 1700-1800 rpm. I have not noticed any torque loss. Hope this helps.

I considered having a shop build a custom dual exhaust and was going to use Borla XR-1s due to their flow through design. I’m the end the cost was pretty high up there so I just went with DD TRD Replacement system instead.

You will lose low end torque if it’s a dual in single out muffler. But if the y pipe is built correctly and all tubing dimensions are stock, you won’t lose low end torque. However, without canceling out the drone specifically, it will drone.

our bolt on catback will gain low end torque. It won’t drone because we specifically cancel it out. It’s very easy to install. And it’s very easy to go back to stock and sell when you trade in your truck.

The tundra requires a very specific ‘formula’ or it loses low end torque. We got that covered!!!

I have the 8” Dirty Deeds cat back system and I could not be happier with it. It sounds amazing, not too loud unless you really get into the throttle, and it doesn’t drone at all.
