Is it a mechanical locker on the new one? My last gen had an ABS modulated set up.

Yes. It's a real locker on the 3rd Gen with the TRD Off Road package.

doesn’t mean that that’s how much it costs, my 2 dealers are selling at Msrp and it appears most are across the country.

The Max isn’t available yet. That’s why you can’t built it yet. As far as an OR package. Get the one with tow hooks :anonymous:

Is one or the other better for high-speed interstate driving: 18" with big tires or 20" with normal tires?

They clearly only care about appearance and not actual ability, otherwise it would have smaller wheels and tow hooks. :anonymous:

Sporty type driving would be better with a larger wheel with lower profile tire. Less sidewall to flex in turns etc.

I will honestly probably baby the shit out of this truck...buying brand new and need it to last as long as possible. I can't avoid driving out on jobs, but I'll still try to be super careful with it.

F150 Tremor, you can get a front torsen and it's not as wide as the raptor.

I’m curious why you are not looking at the TRD Pro? You say you want the best off road tundra and the Pro is the most capable off-road tundra model sold, as they come out the door without any modifications.

I wouldn’t totally agree with that especially considering the price. As far as off-road capability goes the off-road basically has the same capability as a pro minus a small very small lift

Have you ever ridden in a Pro tundra off road? Are you familiar with what reservoir shocks do to keep oil cool during rapid cycling?

Are you aware that the price of the pro vs a SR5 trd offroad or limited with a set of BALLER coilovers is still much, much cheaper and more offroad worthy?

The OP, in the title for this thread said, “out of the box”. I’m not sure what that means to you, but for the rest of the world, I’m pretty sure it means, stock from the factory. Also, and I re-read his original post, there’s no concern expressed about price or cost. I’m done here.

I have plenty of times and also in plenty of modded off-road vehicles I’m just saying for the typical person going off road the price of the pro doesn’t justify the capabilities which are pretty much identical to a lower trimmed off road

Did not remember the first post, my bad. Lets be real though, 99% of folks on these forums don't leave it stock for more than a few days, especially those going offroad.

BINGO, pro is a status symbol... just like the platinum or 1794

That's simply not true and most certainly not representative of the average owner.

As I said this forum, tundras.com is predominantly folks modding their vehicle with the vast majority doing suspension/ lifts on their trucks right after delivery- never said anything about the average owner- those folks drive stock and stay stock and dont visit forums for the most part. Make a poll, lets see how many people "mod" their vehicle right away.

im also interested in this poll and what people are planning to do with their vehicle. im one of those that dont wanna touch the factory things of the truck due to warranty and due to the wife saying no. I know once I get the build bug I'll wanna keep going. so I'll keep it stock for a few years until things start to get warn out then I upgrade. I find that would be the best route to save money while paying the vehicle off. so for me, it's just modest upgrade to things that would make the truck my own as parts and accessories come out.

I tried doing the poll thing myself but it wouldnt let me, maybe cuz im not the OP
