I was wondering where you all got your hot from while installing. Tail light, wire from battery, etc? Looking for the best way to do it. Thanks!

If you don't want to run a wire from. The battery or fuse box you can tap into the back of the trailer plug.

I saw this earlier when I was looking. I looked at my wiring and I have two red wires. One is solid red and I think the other was red and black? I don't want to tap into the wrong one. The wires are pretty tight so it doesn't give you too much wire to use.

Use posi-taps, just use that diagram and tap those 2 spots. All trailer plugs are the same.

Battery so you can use the bed lights while the truck is turned off.

Mine are wired to the cargo lamp switch. My bed lights work in whatever position the switch is in. On / Door / Off

I came from the battery also, I wanted use of my lights at any time. Pretty sure the trailer plug goes dead with the key off.

I now have a house battery and a bunch of other stuff. But I initially grabbed them from the middle of the harness on the frame going to the trailer tow connector. The harness is accessible where the cab meets the bed. I have the trailer charge relay jumped so I can plug a battery maintainer into the 7-pin when stored for a while, so this wire is now constant hot for me.
