    Went near Houston with a great friend to a muskeg to cut some burnt spruce. Ken. Quite famous in AK. I helped him cut several spruce's that day that became the legs of his custom bar stools. We went to "Hope" to get some larger spruce logs that were used to make a big sign in front of Gwin's Lodge at Cooper's Landing. I know the owner...Keith. I helped make that sign. The salmon carving was finished up by Ken's daughter. Bar stools and tables for Roscoe's Pizza in Ninilchik. 2nd pic...check out the chairs behind the pie.....I brought one back. $300 chair. Will last years. I didn't pay $300. Free when you help the maker....

    I guess I should take Manny to Drake's. I know the owner. AK was one of my bucket list things but taking my grandson up there would be kick ass. I've sat right there....can't name name's but the woman responsible for studies to determine whether copper mining should go forward near Bristol Bay had all her maps and such on that coffee table. I've been around a bit........

    I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that. The Amazon one was funny but I'd already seen most of it because they were playing all the time the week before.

    Right now I think the best commercial out there is the Chevy one (not the EV) with Walter the cat.

    That's a big ass lodge. Forget what it cost to build it. Right on the Kenai River on a large lot. Quite pricey during salmon season.

    There was a Bud Clydesdale commercial - the Clydesdale had an injured leg and then it was out running with the dog after it healed. I get what they were doing but it just wasn't on par with the old Budweiser commercials. There was a Bud Light Zero or some shit commercial that was way over produced. Actually, I think most of them were. Sacrificing creativity for special effects.

    @Azblue and I am waiting for the call from Kit Kat and Snickers to make a commercial about the half-crazy Veteran and the disgruntled Postal Worker invading Canada in search of new candy bar flavors. Probably work in a Miller Lite designated driver crossover while we are at it.
