Front LED turn signal upgrade for '22s

Unfortunately, 2022 Tundras without the premium headlights use 7443 or 7444 filament bulbs for turn signals. (Weird when just about everything else is LED.)

On my 2018 Tundra, I used JDMS and was hoping to use same ones on the new truck; easy access via the wheel well, but the JDMs trigger hyperflash.

I thought 30W and above was needed to avoid hyperflash. Even though the JDMs are advertised as 50W, they throw the error. Could buy a resistor, of course, but would rather find an another amber LED bulb with built-in resistor that will 100 per cent work.

If anyone has found one and tested, please post.

I just installed these as well last night. They worked perfect. No hyper flash or issues with the truck.

took maybe 15 mins to install thru the wheel wells.

I didn’t go with switch back. Just a low and high level amber depending on whether you are running turn signal or not.

 

I would be careful with the lighting coming out of China. If it shorts out your truck you will have no recourse with them.

 

Picked up the Lasfits in a black friday sale. WAY brighter. Easy install. Pix illustrate the light during the signal flash. Passenger side is new LED; driver side is stock filament. Park lights are about the same brightness as stock bulbs, but when signalling the LEDS are significantly more noticeable, not nearly as washed out as the OEMs.

I just installed the LASFIT as well. Very happy with the results. I went through the wheel well but couldn't locate them at first. I had to go inside and look up a picture of the back side of the headlight then it was easy to reach up and feel where the turn signal lights were. Quick and easy installation.

 

I installed the Diode Dynamics switchbacks today. Resisters are required. The ground on each plug is on the left if you’re looking at the clip for the plug and signal light on the right, constant in the center.
It is much easier to access the turn signals if you remove the 4 bolts on the front of the wheel well liner (10 mm) rather than fishing through the top. I tried both.
Amber light isn’t as “amber” as I wanted it to be. Still much much brighter than stock and the white light matches the headlights well.
