    Too many, but not enough....
Not for 1st gen but in my 2.5 gen, it seems like everytime i pull up next to another one, its always some middle aged mexican lady driving it too. Granted they are all stock looking rigs, I guess I havent had my 21 long enough yet to pull up next to a modded one, maybe from this forum.

There a contractor out here in a clean 1gt. He waves back. Havent stopped to bend his ear, but we both 2nd glace.

i wave (truck wave, open hand on top of the steering wheel) at everyone in my neighborhood. Only about half bother to look up from their phones.

I can absolutely relate to that. Because I'm not in the rust belt there are still a ton of 1st gens on the roads down here. I always wave and never get any response. Most of the 1st gens are drivin by older men or women that don't really seem to understand what they have. I have not seen another 1st gen in that is "built" with bigger tires/sliders/bumper aside from mine.

No Mexicans here. Just mostly Porto Ricans, Brazilians and Ethiopians using them as contractor trucks for landscaping, painting and other businesses requiring a cheap reliable pickup for their work.

The other personal first gens are typically sitting in people's driveways for the trips to home depot and wherever.

Same here, no one that would be interested in waving back.

On a similar note, the friend that I bought my truck from said that he always had people (especially lawn maintenance guys) stopping him asking to buy it... I've yet to have anyone even talk to me. Maybe I'm just more scary looking or something. (LOL!)

1st gen, no, and for the same reasons as above. I never see any 1st/2nd gen SHOs around, but if I did I would make a u-turn across 5 lanes of traffic to chase them down and talk to them.

Ive had 3 people offer me pretty good money.

when i was hauling the tractor an old man was trying to buy everything i owned. Wrote his number on his card and everything. $35k for the truck, trailer, and tractor. Said he’d sell me his aluminum flatbed newwish (not upsidedown face) silverAdo for $30k and gimme some spending money. Haha. Had to tell him, its my grandpa’s truck, grandma and a dead favorite neighbors trailer, hauling my grandma’s cousins tractor. But i might trade him for 100 acres.

I saw one the other day. I heard it first and wondered what was making that strange noise. Knew it was a bike, but haven't heard anything like it. I knew when I saw that v twin and sporty appearance what it was.

I typically wave or nod. Rarely get a response. It's a 60/40 split here, labor to not-labor. Some really 1GT here too.

my 2002 single cab long bed ranger gets a note on the windsheild in my driveway maybe once every month or 2 and almost everytime at the gas station with peopl wanting to buy it. Bought it for 3 grand 12 years ago and never had a single issue with it. never going to sell.

I'm old, so nobody waves. LOL.
But I do get stopped once a month or so at a gas station / liquor store by someone admiring my 1st Gen.
They usually say that they had one and it was the best truck they ever had and wish they never sold it.
I always trip-out on the goons in the giant lifted F350 street trucks, seems like they have their own thing going on.

I have 2 RCLB Tundras and really get stopped at Home Depot more than anywhere else but also on Jobsites a lot but the Element is another story!

Elements owners can be like a Secret Society and not one I am always sure I like being in?

    But mostly I do.

Riding the motorcycle, almost always get the low hand out “wave” as I pass another motorcycle.
Driving the Jeep, could occasionally get a passing Jeep to throw the “J” wave. Kinda goofy if you ask me.
Driving the FGT, I get all excited when I see another FGT, especially the ones that look well kept. Usually an old man if it’s stock. The modded ones are the younger drivers, but I never seem to get anyone that makes eye contact or acknowledges the fact that we are both in the same “club”. The ones who know something others don’t, or won’t admit. It’s like your part of something, but still a loner. OP, I feel you.

Shortly after I bought crackie, I had a guy message me on here asking about buying it. I turned him down, but did consider it briefly.

I did tell him that he would be first in line should I sell it.

That guy must have super powers or something, he’s able to identify a Mexican just by looking at him. Or he must not know other Latin countries exist.

NGL, sad as this will probably sound, half my extended family hasn't been out of their own state. If you gave them an unlabeled map of South and Central America, the only countries they'd get right are Mexico for sure, because it's the closest foreign country to them, literally sharing a border an hour away. A few might get Brazil, but only because they fantasize about Brazilian women, however the second they hear them speak Portugeuse, it's instant bonerkill, "man, why they speaking Russian?!"

I see both sides clearly, but this is one of those things I've found it's best not to choose one.

    This describes west Texas perfectly.

There is an AC running around with Ivan wheels and supercharged badges on it. He has a contractor shell and I’ll sometimes see it pulling a landscape trailer. It looks like it hasn’t been washed since it rolled off the lot. I left a note with my number saying to call if he ever wants to get rid of it but highly doubt I’ll ever get that call. My money is on an older Mexican guy or a 4th generation cotton farmer. Either way, I doubt whoever it is knows what they have.

I had mine last Sunday. At the do-it-yourself car wash. Guy had the same year/model Tundra in the same color as mine. We did the nod and a big thumbs up.
