I’m having the motor in the driver’s side mirror going off for about 3 minutes after i turn the truck on, has anyone replaced the motors in the mirrors or seemed to have this problem?

So when you say 'going off' does that mean the motor Moves the mirror back and forth for 3 mins or just that you Hear the motor buzzing for 3 mins?

I have been trying to solve this issue for months. I have an 07 limited Crewmax. My drivers side doesn’t retract (passenger side works fine) and the motor grinds every time I start the truck—about a minute then it stops. The other annoying thing is that the mirror is kind of loose/floppy back and forth about an inch. Bugs me. Anyway, I finally located a couple YouTube videos on the repair of the folding mechanism. Problem is identified as one of the internal plastic gears has cracked inside the motor housing. Watching those repair videos I was like, oh hell no. So I’ve been pricing used ones on eBay (new oem are in the $520-$620 range). eBay has very few options with the puddle lights and how is anyone going to know if one of those plastic gears are already cracked on a used one …? So I did some more looking and thinking and ordered 2 new oem tow side mirrors for less than one of the retractable ones ($190 ea). I thought this was a decent solution—new mirrors with greater visibility, don’t have to deal with the broken plastic gear issue AND for much less money.
Hope your problem gets worked out.
