I am really wanting a new head unit for my truck. Most likely a Pioneer or Kenwood but I will consider all options. I would also like something more affordable and hopefully available.

I have and SR5 with Entune and non-JBL
I have Navigation and Surius XM in my stock HU

    I would like

    10 inch screen preferred
    Android
    Siruis
    Navigation (Waze or Google)
iMaestro to order be compatible with truck settings
    usb input
    all needed cables and mounts.

    Thanks

Well. You will only have a few option. You have the pioneer 10” or the kenwood dmx10xx series and the jvc kw-z1000w.
Not sure what your budget is. But at the moment you’re looking at $900-$1500 just for the radio alone. Add on the maestro rr/rr2 and TO harness. That’s another $170+.
    Bracket another $20+.

Agreed. You'll spend a significant amount of money on a 10" Kenwood floating screen. I have the Kenwood Excelon DNR100XR. It was $1800 just for the HU. Add in Maestro, etc. and with professional install it was $2700.00. I had the JBL system. For phase two, I replaced speakers, sub, amp etc. with a complete plug & play Phoenix Gold system from @tech12volts. Couldn't be happier!

Ive got a pioneer 7600 in my 4runner and an 8600 in my tundra. They were chosen because of the minimalist screen. It has the best fit/finish without large screen edge dead space. It really made my JBL speakers “wake up”. Sounds great. 9F75C8C4-4AE8-435C-87B2-EC7C9A10562E.jpg

That looks clean! Now I need one. I always hate how units do not look factory within the vehicle.

Kenwood DMX1057XR, just installed a couple weeks ago and loving it. Loved it so much I put one in the wife’s Sequoia too. If you go this route I can help ya with the parts need and install questions since it’s fresh in my mind. Figure about $1800 all in if you do the install yourself and go with this model. I went a bit beyond that and put a Firestick in for watching YouTube or Netflix when sitting and waiting in the vehicle.

How was the install, plug and play for the most part? I am an electronics nut and IT pro so I have no problem digging into stuff either.

Everything was plug and play and easy as pie. The only thing that was a little out of the ordinary was soldering the parking brake cable to ground as a bypass. Other than that, solder the two harnesses together, flash the Maestro, and plug er’ all in! Oh yeah, I did have to trim the interior edge of the dash kit to fit the head unit, about 1/16” too tight.

    Follow up questions

On the Kenwood or Pioneer unit can I add apps through Google Play, can I browse the internet? I have home video cameras I would like to view

Some reviews complained about the touch screen lag and response, is that an issue?

Only if you screen mirror your phone. The radio itself will not let you download any apps into it. you can use Amazon firestick and browse YouTube.
if you have a jailbroken iphone you can add the Carbridge tweak. This will let you have any apps displayed in carplay.

Make sure to use the standard 1080p hdmi cable. 4k cable will not work on these radio.
