To be honest, I'm not sure. Every time we did a limited finish for the Tundra wheels, they seem to sit in our warehouse for quite some time before selling out.

Are you thinking black, bronze, and gunmetal?

Yes, matte finishes in jet black, gunmetal, and dark bronze are our 3 standard finishes that we will always offer on a regular basis.

I think I'm in for a set. Will this be available through a pre-order at all or just the usual process?

I think it will be the same process Brett. When they go on sale if you can get a set. Hopefully Vin has a lot of set before they go on sale.

That would probably get production moving faster if enough were willing to preorder with a deposit down. And also guarantee you a set with your deposit.

While communicating with SCS today on a set of wheels I purchased for my wife's 4R, I inquired about an update on the F5s and, at this time, there is no update and their team is "working on it". I'm going to be patient, we all should be patient. These guys know what they're doing and the wheels will be released when it will be released! I'm just glad the F5 is going to be an option for us and, at +25 offset, it will be right in the sweet spot.

I’ve messaged Vin and Vuth regarding the 18x9 +25mm F5 Tundra wheels. It seems there’s still no real timeframe for these to make it to production, they are still garnering interest in them. Let’s get 25 buyers that are willing to put a deposit down so we can hopefully see them sometime this year. That way Vin, Vuth, and the SCS team can be reassured that making these wheels is worth their time and they should proceed with producing them. @SCSPerformance

So, the "It's official...late spring release" post from SCS is inaccurate?

I have to be honest, this whole process is bizarre. There's a thread on here that's almost 3 years old on this same topic and now this one appears to have gone from an official announcement back to gauging interest. I think some clarification directly from SCS would be helpful.

Look great, but I didn’t consider your wheels because there was no 17” 0 offset option, there’s a number of us that like a smaller wheel and a little wider stance.

I have to agree with Brett, I think I’m going a different route. It sounds like it will be quite a while before these are available. So it’s decision time to go a different wheel.

I'd be happy to put a deposit down if it guaranteed me a set of F5s, but I've never heard of SCS doing that before. The only way I've ever bought a set of their wheels was by watching their instagram page for when they're in stock and then joining the mad rush to add them to my cart before they sell out. They place an order for a quantity of wheels they know will sell out. It keeps the hype up, and it keeps leftover inventory nonexistent.

Right now, it doesn't seem that there is enough hype to get the ball rolling on these wheels. But I would contend that is because everyone here who is interested still doesn't really believe it's actually going to happen. I don't need anyone to hold my hand while I wait, but this seems like a big step backward or at least zero forward movement and makes a lot of us who are ready to pay lose faith that it will actually happen.

@SCSPerformance, if it's true that y'all have gone from "late spring release" to "still garnering interest", then it seems to me, you played yourself. Your non-committal teasing through this whole thing is the exact reason so many people are losing interest.

I hate to be impatient, let’s wait and see what they have to say. Perhaps I made assumptions I shouldn’t have from their messages, maybe not.

The F5 is a go, but our time frame of having them available in early 2022 isn't going to happen. I guess I was being a little too optimistic. At this current moment, I will estimate late summer to be the soonest. For those that can't wait, we totally understand.

If they’re a go, definitely worth the wait. Thank you @SCSPerformance, looks like the update I got from Vuth about “garnering interest” was incorrect. Cheers, and I still support a group buy or deposit format if it’s an option.

The group buy will be more like a preorder. It will happen when the time is right. We never like to hold anyone's money hostage for too long. People get antsy and start coming at us with pitchforks. We won't allow that to happen to us so it will happen when it's time.
