Not sure how you can say this so definitively when we have only seen a couple of pics with the cab off to inspect/fix this problem. I'm pretty sure Toyota engineers/suits would find it much easier to inspect the problem, but this doesn't mean Techs cant find a way to do it without the removal. At this point I still find it way too early to say either way.

Maybe not for the turbos, but for some major repairs experienced mechanics with the tools and space opt to take the cab off. Saves them time vs the book rate in a lot of cases.

That may be the case, but I thought we were talking about the Turbo's as the thread title indicated. There are also threads here of Techs removing the cab to repair the cam tower leaks, and there are other Techs who found it easier and more profitable not to, so who in the end is really correct? As a former Tech myself I can tell you that Warranty work absolutely sucks when it comes to what Corporate pays, so I bet we will see pretty soon if the cab off fix is the norm, or just an anomaly.

Probably depends on the tech, and how much experience they have with certain methods.

If you really think about it, there’s really no reason to lift the cab other than a full engine swap. From what I’ve seen, most parts are fairly accessible.
