How are most people satisfied with the composite bed? Has anyone applied a bed liner in addition to the composite bed? Seems like stuff would slide.

It’s slick when not sprayed. Looks like it’ll hold up just fine. I got the dealer to throw in a bed mat but I’ll be trying out the bedrug May xl when it comes out.

I’m happy with mine. It didn’t receive the factory bed liner but I don’t find it any more slick then my 2007 Tacoma bed. So far nothing has slid around but I would tie down something if I was worried about it.

The bed mat helps a lot.

IMG_20220205_134141.jpg I went ahead and had my bed sprayed. I was getting tired of listening to things smash into the sides with every turn. Very happy with the result.

Never had a problem with a 14 Tacoma .. I for one like to easily slide stuff in/out and will tie down or use net for smaller stuff.

To clarify, I drive like an idiot around turns and on back roads. It may not be necessary for everyone.

I got the factory spray in liner on my 2022. Factory spray liner gets the tundra badge on back.

Cool! Didn't know that you can spray the composite with a traditional spray in liner. Very nice!

Very nice! I have an allocation coming in next month and I didn't have the option to get the factory spray in.

Anyone know if they reinforced it at all in a way that limits bed spread from rtt or similar loads like Tacomas had issue with?

The factory spray in is nice and all but I'm going to be hauling plywood regularly and prefer it to slide out and not get scarred up. The no slip spray in bedliner is really aggressive. I can also see dirt getting embedded in it , needing a pressure washer to properly clean it out. Most 22's I see coming in have the spray in liner. Here atleast.

Based off my experience with spray in liners, I definitely recommend protecting anything you wouldn't want to rub with 60 grit sandpaper.

I previously had a Tacoma and it was slippery. A cheap bed may works great for this. Overall I liked the composite bed.

My 2019 Taco bed was slippery, I added the bed mat and it helped a lot but made things harder to slide into the bed.

I think the spray in liner would be a much better idea, whether OE or aftermarket Linex/etc.

How does the factory spray compare to aftermarket sprays? Is it less aggressive? It doesn't look as rough as some of the aftermarket options like my dealer used on my 2.5 gen.

It is like a very course sand paper. If I fell on it I would expect to bleed. Other spray ins I have seen seemed more sticky but not so aggressive.

Hard 60 grit sand paper. It’s definitely aggressive

Anyone tested how durable/thick the spray is by tossing your hitch or similar in the back?

I have also heard that the new bed is not as deep as past generations has anyone confirmed this?

I had a large tile saw and half a tarp full of tile scraps in the bed today. That bed liner is gunna hold up just fine. It’s hard like plastic but abrasive like sand paper. Tile dust made a mess but looks like it will rinse right out.

Keep our bed full with camping gear except for the area next to tailgate saved for cooler and/or gen-set. The composite bed looks like it would be slick when wet. Keep an aluminum step in the bed for reaching into front of the bed with the bed cover open. Installed a Toyota bed mat when we purchased our Tundra, it's all we need:

You need a CargoGlide pullout! You have no idea what you're missing out on carrying loads like that. I've used one in my last three trucks, rarely have a need to step into the bed.

I have seen those and they're very nice! Have a friend that uses one in his one ton pickup with shell.

Did not say it well, I use a cheap folding aluminum step to keep from stepping into the bed when reaching over the side of the front of the bed next to the cab. Prefer a bed cover over a shell. Had two diamond back covers on our last two pickups, they are very nice, but decided to go with the Toyota bed cover this time.

    Thanks,
