clunking noise 2020tundra

    i own a 2020 toyota tundra trd off road whenever i start off from being parked there is a clunking noise under truck dealer says it is the brake pads dropping they do this in case of mud and debris does this sound correct.

    My 2014 and 2017 make the same noise… I was told it was normal as well… I can’t remember what they said causes it… truck runs fine.

    Eibach Pro Truck Stage 2 suspension, HD RAS, 285/75-18 Nokian Outpost AT, LoPro bed cover, TRD rear sway bar, DD 10 inch exhaust, and various other goodies
    There is an ABS check the truck makes on start off, not sure of the MPH, but it is low, 5-10MPH, clunk or thud where they ABS is doing a self check.

    Oh, one thing to check, if your truck has zerk fittings in the drive shafts/drivetrain, be sure to lube those at every oil change. If they get dry they can make a clunk, thud noise also.

    ABS system. Totally normal.
