Mirrors

Hey all,

I just bought a new 2021 SR5 over the weekend, and it came with the heated tow mirrors. I'm not a huge fan of them and I'm considering swapping them out, but had a few questions I can't seem to find the answer to.

1. Are they much wider than regular mirrors? It's a tight squeeze to fit into the garage without folding both of them in, and I'm wondering if regular mirrors are any smaller?

2. The truck has the upgraded package that says it comes with BSM monitoring when looking at the package description online, but I can't find anything saying this truck actually has the capability. Is there something I could check to see if the truck has the functionality before buying BSM / non-BSM mirrors?

3. Anyone want to swap regular mirrors for brand new OEM tow mirrors? I haven't quite figured out the shipping logistics since you need mirrors to drive, but if anyone is in the KC area we could meet up.

 

Not certain on size difference, but surely you can find a truck parked someplace to compare. Secondly, not sure how to confirm your bsm capabilities. However, I have brand new sr5 black non bsm mirrors in Oklahoma City. Came off my truck at 11 miles at time of purchase. Would definately trade in case I ever need to replace one. If you get a chance, could you measure them quick and get the length? If they're an inch or two shorter, I'm definitely interested in swapping you.

 

I'm rather certain tow mirrors project farther out than the sport mirrors. Look on the dash for your BSM switch, my '16 has one. When passing another vehicle you'll see the orange light in the corner of the mirror illuminate. Obviously, it's easier to see this at night.

No BSM switch, and I know these mirrors aren’t BSM enabled because it did specifically say that on the mirror upgrade section. Just didn’t know if the truck would come prepared for BSM mirrors, but I would guess not…
