Most certainly not. I'm sure it's just his tinnitus.

Funny story, when I was around 12 or 13 and had my bedroom in the basement, we had a snow storm and the vent for our boiler (just outside my bedroom) got blocked and caused the CO alarm to start screaming. I went upstairs and told my parents, and their solution was to unplug it and go back to bed... I did sleep on the couch that night...

On a serious note - I’ve done a couple CO cases for work - both fatalities. Make sure you do have working alarms.

After having one of my own, I wouldn't blame my parents if they really did that.

Feel sorry for you southern guys, you’ll never know the satisfaction of prying up 3-4” thick slabs of ice from people driving on the driveway before it can be shoveled.

Right? It's so satisfying when you can get a big ol' slab of it to come up at once.

We have a winter storm warning for tomorrow night, but I'm staying in all day Thursday and Friday with the blinds closed pretending it doesn't happen. I don't even like ice in my whisky...

I block off my driveway until I clean it so that doesn't happen. I hate that, it makes it so much harder to clean.

Yeah, I can’t really do that. I have a long gravel driveway so I need it plowed. A lot of times the plow guy comes before me or the kids can shovel. Sometimes he hits me at 3-4 am.

I have about 400' of driveway, thankfully it is paved. I did 1 winter with gravel and I couldn't wait to have it paved.

That would be nice. We have a pretty steep spot in the middle, (also about 400’) so it would be pricey to pave it. Even reconstituted black top would be like 10 grand I believe.

Yeah, so many more things I wanna spend money on before that. Plus the sketchy driveway keeps unwanted visitors from coming down.

I had to go grocery shopping today and everybody was out panic buying before the winter storm.

I thought it'd be fun to wait in the Seasonal Candy aisle.
    IMG_0768.jpg
But the line didn't move and I was stuck next to these (I can already hear @Outbound 's little feral heart pound a little harder)...

    IMG_0769.jpg

So, I went an aisle over.

    IMG_0770.jpg

I was surrounded by old ladies that were super nice so the wait wasn't too bad (I'm like old lady crack, they love me).

And one final pic when I was checking out. The lines tripled behind me.

Nothin better for a winter storm than a little beetus.

I cooked way more red beans, meatloaf, and pasta sauce than I need to get me through the weekend, so I'm glad I didn't have to fight through any similar crowds today. Unless we get a burst pipe or the power goes out again, I'm going to be able to deny the storm ever happened.

It was horrible. I came home, put the groceries away, mailed some pecans for @gosolo, took a shower and then did my migraine treatment. The kids weren't too bad - two were acting up while I was in line but all of the grandmas around me took over and got them to stop. They were like short, wrinkly, blue haired angels with dentures sent down from the Heavens to keep me from ditching my cart and forcing my family to eat Dairy Queen for a week.

Good news is that my migraines dropped down to a manageable level and my new Ugg Scuffs came in. You know what they say about Happy Feet... Maybe it's "Happy Wife" but whatever. Not sure what a "Happy Wife" has to do with feet. @Hightide probably has a theory. Anyways, these things are awesome - I can't wait to get my retractable ninja knives hooked up to them.
