My wife and I traveled back to Iowa last week for business and to visit. We did @ 3400 mi. total traveling through Albuquerque, Amarillo, OK City, Kansas City and Des Moines. Taking the all interstate route was better and quicker than going up through no-mans land in the OK panhandle and much smoother road. We hit zero weather, delays or road construction and had a smooth trip. I was able to have Caseys pizza and I brought back $150 in steaks.

The Tundra did great and I averaged around 18.5 mpg using 88 octane and running 75 mph most of the way. (I have 33 inch TerraGrapler tires). I was also able to use the adaptive cruise for the first time and I actually liked not having to reset it when coming up behind a slower vehicle. Oh, and it was -17 degrees the first morning there but the truck started just fine. We stayed and decent hotels but I was also glad that I installed the CAT protection plates the week before we left.

Fun trip! I didn't think I would like the adaptive cruise but I love it!

I don't care for the Casey's pizza but I love their tenderloin sandwiches!

The adaptive cruise is definitely nice for those longer trips.
