Going to Cracker Barrel and asking for biscuits before the meal. At least the last 4 times we were there, they didn’t bring plates or silverware out. When I asked the manager if we could get some, he said “I think they are dirty” or “we’re not trained to bring that out before the meal”
Umm, you’re telling me you don’t eat from plates at home? Come on, use some common sense and bring out plates.

It took me some time as a younger man to overcome some issues..
now, I don't allow any stress of other people problems or their habits enter my life..

    Live & Let Live

it's just not worth it and I'm a very happy older man today because of this.

100% agree. My company started this policy about 2 years ago, and we are allowed to go over a little but 9+ gets you punished. After 3 strikes, you’re subject for termination depending on the severity of the offense. I’m not risking my career just to make the idiot behind me happy.

Exactly. I drive like a madman in my truck, but at work in a Gubment GPS tracked vehicle I stay at the limit, I do however do my best to stay to the right cause I know how much it pisses me off in my personal vehicles.

Ha... well, while I am a fan but, the story is...

I was out for a motorcycle ride one beautiful sunny day & hit a deer that jumped off the bank on to the hwy while doing around 70 .. no time to react.
I killed that sombitch & lived to tell the story.

All of my riding buddies started calling me "The Deerslayer."

over the years the moniker got shorten to just 'Slayer'

My compadre took a motorcycle tour of Australia many years ago. On the coast highway a dog bounded out of an open window of the owner's vehicle and my compadre drilled the dog.
My compadre broke his hand and totaled out the rental bike. He rode in the chase van for the remainder of the trip unable to ride a motorcycle.

When he got back to the states to tell his story the only thing folks wanted to know:

"What happened to the dog ?"

I'm sure I can think of a lot but the one that's on my mind lately because it's my neighbours is people who'd rather park their car on the street than on their driveway, let alone in their garage.

I know a lot of people who don't have a retirement fund...or savings. The ones who have at least a 401K don't utilize their company's match policy.

What annoys me is when people ask me about tax advantaged accounts and then don't take the action to open one up. " I can't put away $6K a year."

I live by a general rule that applies to all aspects of my life.......I don't like to associate with people who hold other people to higher standards than they hold themselves. I find that this applies to most areas of professional, personal, and social aspects.

This...also, it really bugs me when a waiter/waitress walks up to a table full of women and says "How ya doing guys". Why can't they say "How ya doing ladies"..

I agree with this...but I WILL say that when customer service provides no way to escalate, and with decreasing emphasis on actual customer satisfaction, it's frustrating as hell.

So in the beginning of November, we had a road grader (I live down a gravel road) grade our road, and cut our phone line in the process. (The geniuses who ran the line only buried it like 4" deep.) I put in a work order and they came out that day and ran a temporary line from the pedestal across the road to the NID on the side of our house.

I called 3x to point out that it'd been two weeks...four weeks....*SIX WEEKS* since the line had been temporarily run, and that I needed it buried. It was cut once again while above ground because a cable on a gravel road ain't gonna last long when trucks are running over it all day long. (Keep in mind I pay extra for a business line, because both wife and I WFH - her 100%, me half and half.)

Every time they said the same thing:

    1. We outsource that part to contractors.
    2. I'll escalate to them and tell them you'd like them to contact you.
    3. We don't have a way to escalate this call to management.

I ended up having to both post on every social media page they had *AND* send an email to the CIO for our region to get some movement. One of them actually told me "Well, COVID is hitting us hard, and so on and so forth."

My response was "I understand that, but a) we've been living with this for two years now, and b) it's been almost TWO MONTHS. They literally just have to run a 30' line about a foot underground. That's all."

His response? "....that's it? Yeah, that shoulda easily been done a month ago."

Bottom line? I work customer service for a living....but that experience tested my patience like never before.
