I am going with CrewMax 6.5' because of having kids and a dog, the DC is too cramped. And I want to use it for a camping rig for all of us, so I plan to sleep 2 in the truck bed under a canopy, and 2 up top in a tent or wedge camper.

I look at it as a 12" difference in wheelbase, not a huge difference IMO

OP, I had a Tacoma and read dozens of posts about how quickly you get used to driving a full size truck. 2 1/2 years later with the Tundra and it's still a PITA to drive in the city.

I can't even imagine how much I would hate a CM 6.5 bed. Plus it wouldn't fit in my garage. Ymmv.
