Are we doing license plates? The one I've wanted would probably get me banned here.

I never wanted a vanity plate, but I do want the black CA plate. I imagine the two are the same.

@FrenchToasty did you put a copper ring gasket on the v hand flanges of your headers or no? I’m trying to figure out if I should locate some or not.

The Vbands I got were designed for a copper band, the JBA supposedly don’t need anything, but I don’t see why a nickel infused one, or whatever the header gaskets are, wouldn’t work, just getting it cut the right size.
Monkeyfabgarage has the Vband with copper gaskets

I’ll see how it seals when I have the exhaust minted. The ones I bought for the rest of the exhaust I’ve used in the past and they’ve been leak free. I’m not a huge fan of the JBA setup

I did mine and it wasn't too bad. Just need a couple pieces of hose. Did it at the same time as my transmission drain and fill and used the fluid I had left for this.

I do have them. These are non EPA. If they cause a light I’ll be running spacers. I mainly have them to kill the smell. E15 and e10 smell ew

I'm buying a cat guard for my inspection this year. But they shouldn't be doing a visual on just a normal smog check for 2000+ years, should be OBD check only.

I've never used additional seals with V-bands, and I've had a lot of v-banded exhaust. Never leaks at the V-bands...which is more than I can say for some of my early exhaust welds.

It’s crazy to me that it seals just metal on metal! I guess once heat is involved, the metals mate a little better

Two machined surfaces held very tightly combined with the relatively low pressure of exhaust is a recipe for no/minimal leaks.

The header flanges are not machined. They’re rolled edges. My other bands are machined and I know won’t need a gasket
