I don’t think you’re giving him enough credit. I think once he soured on the Tundra it was obvious, but there is a ton on here that he has posted that is helpful. But you’ve gotta do you.

The issue is that the customer service experience is not one where they respect the buyer, regardless of how true or not the statement is. It lacks class and only shows what they think of their customers.

If you're that confident you're going to move your inventory why are you so inclined to be a douchebag about it.

I always like when keyboard warriors call other people names for buying another brand. I just don’t get it. A construction worker is a fucking idiot for needing a 3/4 or 1 ton? Unbelievable.

Shitty dealer customer service is nothing new - the current market just amplifies it.

What did you NOT like about the Tremor when compared to the Tundra? Just curious

Ford, GM, RAM, Toyota - doesn’t matter. They all have their good and bad. The Toyota dealer I bought my first Tundra from tried to pull a fast one and I called them on it. I gave them a shitty review and The sales manager called me wanting me to change my review. He was a complete asshole about it. I told him, stop trying to screw over unsuspecting customers. I bet the sleight of hand they tried to pull with me probably 5/10 people never catch it.

Yeah some dealers just don’t get it. When I bought my first tundra it was a total lemon. Toyota bought it back. The dealer felt bad about it. So he did everything he could to make me happy about it. Discounted my TRD Pro to invoice which is rare for a pro. Granted I did buy 6 other Toyotas before that. Toyota financial even gave me another discount rebate if I bought another Toyota. It’s stuff like that, that keeps you coming back.

I am still reserving judgement until more is known about reliability and I am closely monitoring how Toyota handles the customers with wastegate issues.

Not because the wastegate or turbo issues themselves are particularly concerning at this point, but because parts are tough to obtain and I want to know how Toyota plans to treat all of us if parts continue to be in short supply and we need a part. So far Toyota is prioritizing building new trucks over taking care of existing trucks with problems, and that hurts the owners of those trucks. At least that is the appearance so far.

I am also holding out some hope that the iForceMax isn’t going to be idiotically expensive, and/or provides really useful increases in performance and economy. Car and Driver test results on their TRD Pro prototype indicate a lot of missing power past 70-80 mph for example. I will reserve judgment until production examples are tested. If there is no improvement and it costs a lot more, I will be very unimpressed with the power train offerings on this new truck.

I meant to ask about this earlier - how do you know this? It seems like many of us on here are still waiting on trucks, and I feel like those that are posting about delays are greater than this posting about picking up new trucks.

I say that because the appearance is that Toyota is still building trucks as far as we know, and the customers with Tundras that have bad turbochargers due to wastegate issues are being told parts are 30+ days out.

We haven’t heard of any halt to production, nor have we heard Toyota making an effort to expedite parts to repair existing trucks.

So I’m operating on the supposition that Toyota has turbochargers that are in spec. They’re using said turbos to build new trucks. They’re making guys and gals who bought trucks with bad turbochargers wait until Toyota decides they have enough parts to fill orders for warranty work.

If you need to drive over 80 mph off road, I recommend building a trophy truck.

What does driving off road have to do with making good power over 80 MPH?

I spend most of my time on two lane highways posted at 65 MPH or 70 MPH. If I pull out to pass slower moving traffic I’m frequently hitting 85-90 MPH. So for my use the ability to accelerate past 70 MPH is pretty important. Mind you this is on road use.

There wasn’t anything I didn’t like to tell you the truth…REALLY NICE look and feel and options that can make you reach for what you didn’t budget for, which is why I spent so much time considering it…

But at the end of the day I wanted to stay within a price range (and was happy with what I was getting for that price), I know and trust Toyota coming from my 2nd gen (never owned a Ford…only what I have seen/experienced and heard from friends and family who own them) so I came back to the devil I personally know from my own experience.
