Wife and I just booked five nights of camping in Idaho, 23 miles from the west entrance of Yellowstone for the first week of August. Looking to then drive south through the park to Grand Teton then back to Oregon.

Anyone done the drive south through the park that can give me an idea for length of the drive? Google maps won’t let me map it due to road closures. Hoping to drive it in one day with the trailer and camp somewhere near Jackson for a couple nights.

We did yellowstone 2 summers ago. Stayed in a West Yellowstone KOA and did a day trip to Jackson hole. Google mapped us not through the Park but around down through Idaho and then over to Jackson hole. Probably because it was quicker. Sorry do not remember the hwy’s used. But all I know is the pass and road into Jackson hole was a B puckering thing and I was so glad I had no tt I was pulling. I’m sure others will have better suggestions. The Tetons and that area is absolutely gorgeous! Next time I am skipping Yellowstone and going straight to the Tetons.

Took the boy up to the mountains for some more skiing today. Saw my first 2022 Tundra in person at the parking lot. Looks much better, and more proportionate in person. I REALLY wish my CrewMax had a 6.5’ bed. :frusty:

Yesterday was my anniversary at work. 32 years on the job.

    I have 7 weeks vacation.

So we took off in August for a 33 day trip back East. We got as far as the great lakes and played around in Duluth MN for a week in September.

We have owned the tundra(new) 11 months and the topper 7 months.

    20K on the tundra.
32 nights sleeping in the topper.

    Very happy with the pair

And I love the 10 ply Nokian tires.

We did the Magruder Corridor on the above mentioned trip. It was nice to have confidence in my tires.

I will take a pic of my tires.

Congratulations on the years of service. That’s pretty unheard of these days.

Thirty-two nights under a topper is gangster! Especially with two people…

    Picture taken right this minute

    20,245 miles on the truck.

12,006 miles driven on these tires.

Please note that they have a wear indicator imbedded into the tread.

Looks like the first 20% is almost gone.

You can still read the 80% Mark.

When the snowflake disappears, I will replace them.

My truck and my life are vastly more important than getting the last buck from the tread.

So it looks like I will get about 15K miles on the first 20%

If I toss them when I get below 20% I should get 2 years on them, at 55K miles.

    I paid $1,200 installed for 5 tires.

I will leave the spare alone, so I always have a totally fresh tire in reserve.

I don’t think I have seen tires with wear indicators like that stamped into it. Very cool.

Yes. That was a selling point for me.

The snowflake is 20% I believe.

They sure handled great on the Magruder Corridor. I lowered the air pressure to 25psi for the 3 days we were in the wilderness.

We hiked on foot, up to Burnt knob lookout.

Check out this guys video of the area. No affiliation to me.

If you have a matching spare wheel it may be good to rotate the spare into your lineup. Then you could always truly keep the spare fresh and never have to think about the rubber longevity with it.

    Yes.

When I get the next 4 tires, I'll mount the current spare, and one of the new tires will replace the spare.

That way, my spare will not die of old age.

My second must have would be these lights. They're not only badass but their customer service is top notch. I'll try and get some more night pics for everyone. I've added a few from when these lights were on my wrangler.
