What removal method did you use? Want to debadge but worried I’ll screw up the paint.

Nice! I didn’t even know there was a 3D option!

You can leave the amber drl on with the led strip of you want.

the easiest option is the always bright led strip. That does not require you to run a wire into the cab of the truck. Look on the first page of that thread I linked above and it will walk you through the options and install process so you can decide what you are comfortable with.

I hate you had those issues with yours. I just installed mine and didn't have any problems at all. Took maybe 10 minutes total to do everything.

Typically I just use the fishing line method and a heat gun/hair dryer. You can’t mess up the paint that way. Then keep some heat on the glue that’s left over and get it with your fingers (it just rolls with some pressure). Afterwards I use some denatured alcohol on a rag to get all the residue off. If you still have the borders or ghosting, get some rubbing and polishing compound. It will come off with no problems. Then just seal it up with whatever wax or coating you use on the rest of your truck and you’re all set.

Today installed a Firestick TV 4K to the HDMI input and got all apps working with my iPhones hotspot. Pretty sweet since I spend a lot of time in the truck waiting around (not while driving obviously). Picture is unbelievably crispy! Quick clip of a Stradman video my son was watching today. Sorry for the copyright Stradman!

Yes I drove it yesterday. Large speed bumps felt alot softer to drive over.

Nice great to hear. Yeah it's pretty amazing how it eliminated any rear sag, yet felt even better driving over bumps and such. I was under the impression with the elimination of all sag it would have to come at the price of a stiffer ride. Gladly this was not my experience. I have the feeling with more driving you will come to appreciate them even more over time. Plus it's great that despite me buying mine new secondhand the owner of Alcan was a pleasure to work with in obtaining some new u bolts, he even mentioned if I ever had any needs in the future he would fully stand behind the product despite not purchasing through him.

Wish it was like that hah, it just snow balled with the wiring being backwards with the dome light right into the clips of the overhead but oh well it’s done and all should hold of just fine.

looking back I don’t see a reason why the install video says to take out the overhead anyways, seems the whole install can be done mounted.

Hey Eric, would like to hear the details on your wheels and tire setup. I have a silver sky as well and this setup peaked my interest. Great job on the de-badging!

Yes, that could have easily been done mounted. Hell the part that took the longest for me was finding my T20 bit to remove the overhead.

I read through the forum quite a bit before I debadged. There were a couple whose heat gun experience was not great - paint came off. If it's very cold when you decide to go at it, I'd recommend warming up a larger area, and as slowly as you can. I'm in Texas, and waited on a 90+ degree day, and didn't use a heat gun. My result was perfect (50lb fishing line and goof-off), except the aforementioned ghosting from the glue. It seems to be more dicey for folks wanting to debadge older trucks, so you doing it now rather than 4 or 5 years from now is better.

My TRD Sport landed in late October, so I've had minimal time to work on my rig before the snow hit the ground. It's crazy how you can spend a few thousand dollars and things still look very stock. Wheels and tires are a MUST for the spring!

I think I will go this route when it warms up here. I was planning on blacking out the Platinum badge but it looks so clean debadged.

Color matching your grill badge to your wheels looks killer! Did you use an OEM TRD grill or aftermarket?

Mine were blacked out from the dealer and I liked it for the longest time...right up until the overlays started to peel back. Debadged and never looked back.

Thanks. I bought the aftermarket TRD Pro grill insert from MC Autoparts. Their website has been down for a few months now so I’m not sure if they’re still in business. I painted the honeycomb body color and the badge to match my rims.
This is the thread I used as guidance for painting: https://www.tundras.com/threads/how-to-get-great-results-from-rattle-can-paint-tons-of-pics.51748/

this thread has some of the pictures I took in process and a little explanation:
