Speyside scotch is my go to. The Glenrothes makes some excellent ones. Second choice is Highlands. Tough to beat a classic Highland Park. Love me some bourbon after that. Maker's Mark and Knob Creek are my favorites.

Buffalo Trace is great too. I haven't check stores recently for stock levels. I drink so infrequently that I have bottles in my cupboard that I bought 6 years ago and still have 1/4 left. I know I don't have any Buffalo Trace though.

If you haven’t tried High West Bourbon, give it a shot. Distilled in Park City, UT.

Seagram's VO, Gibson's Finest and Wiser's would be my top picks.

Wiser's is well regarded. I'm pretty sure it's the reason I don't like rye though. It was my drink of choice in my early 20s. I got absolutely annihilated on it that one time about 10 years ago and haven't been able to touch rye since. 1 of only 2 times I've ever been blackout drunk. Come to think of it, the other time involved Wiser's too...

I like the Colorado whiskeys too, on occasion. Tin Cup and Stranahan's. It's a different animal, and probably not for everyone. Dessert whiskey.

Both of mine have the mouths of construction workers.
They get it from me, but my wife is also able to hold her own.
We never really shielded them, but we did instruct them on where it wasn’t appropriate. They’ve done pretty well for themselves.

Was in Lexington 3 or 4 years back and got the tour at Buffalo Trace. Always kinda kept my eye open for it after that. Christmas before last I found a bottle sitting on the shelf at Target of all places. Amazing how small of an operation that distillery is.

ha - - yep. Suntori Hibiki is a more famous brand, and it's really nice. I have a bottle squirrelled away in the cupboard. Not sure what I'm waiting on.
