    Hi lads and jets !
I’ve just leveled my 2021 Limited CrewMax with Bilstein 5100s ( middle setting on the struts ) and have ordered Fuel Beats 20x9 wheels with 20mm offset and need help with tire size and choice !
I really want to go with 33’s but not sure if they will be rubbing and I’ll have to do trimming !
Also what brand should I go for ?
i use my truck for daily drive to work and 100% highway . Defiantly looking for aggressive looking tires and I know they won’t last long , but at least some advice what’s I can look for

For highway and good tread life I like Dueller Alenza Plus. Do you want the noise of aggressive looking tires? BFG AT probably the quietest I would think. Don't know if they come in 20."

I’m fine with the noice ! I think my stock are Dueller Alenza , but still want the aggressive look . BFG AT has got 20s . I’ve looked at nitto ridge grappler 275/60r20 but still kind of pricey and some of the reviews were not good . I’ll be searching till I get my wheels this week !!!

Did the 33" tire work at the middle setting or did you go smaller?

Check out and watch some reviews on Yoko GO15, you and I are in similar climate conditions and usage, mine are doing awesome. 285/75 18 E rated here. Solid and quiet, look better in real life too.

I know a lot of people here run the Falken Wildpeak AT3s. I think look good (fairly aggressive), but are better and quieter for mostly street driving than a MT tire would be.

The Nitto Terra Grappler are similar and also get pretty good reviews.

I went 275/60R2 BFG and worked awesome on the middle setting. No rubbing at all , just had to remove the little plastic flaps ! 48A68001-B3C3-4BE9-83F7-B0F7847B2B61.jpg 00EA2AB4-BA87-4416-A23F-D7848C4B8400.jpg

That's good news. These squatty 55s don't look like truck tires. Looks like the 60 will help. Nice set up. Thanks

Those little front mini mud flaps are for aero dynamics. Don't know how much they help but I figure I'll be lucky to keep them. Course kinda silly to worry about it when your lifting and adding wheel size. Not exactly aero efficient.

I still have them , but with their size , can get it how they will help with aero dynamics lol I’m not planing any lifts on my truck , I’m riding dirt bikes and as high as go , as harder it gets to load all of my stuff !!!

I went with Toyo AT3s for similar reasons. Great and useful tread pattern and good on hwy with not much noise.

Right. Same with those tiny fins on your outside mirror mount and tail lights. Believe it or not there there for aero. I don't plan to raise the rear either. 65s would be nice if you don't have to start cutting.

Went with 1.75” Rough Country front leveling kit. Worked pretty well for me, no rear sag.

When I had 275/60 on my oem wheels I felt this size looked even better. On oem wheels they fit with no lift

Thanks for the reply. I'm thinking I'm gonna be OK with the 60s. They definitely look better.

This is what I wonder about.

During the '22 Tundra launch, engineers made a big deal in interviews about the "aero fins" they molded into the tail lights. They claim those little fins made a repeatable difference in fuel efficiency during testing. I noticed when I got this '16 last month that the aero fins aren't a new idea...my truck has TWO of them on the tail lights and there's one on the side view mirrors as well. Why would they bother if it didn't make a difference?

The aero flaps under the front bumper surely make some difference. They wouldn't have bothered with 2 metal backing plates, 4 screws, and 2 aero deflectors per vehicle produced unless it made a tangible difference.

I took mine off when I put my 275/70 tires on last week. I'm blown away at the MPG loss. I knew I'd lose some mileage and I was OK with that. But 11.26%?? Jesus. I've never seen that severe of a decrease with any of the other dozen 4x4s I've put larger tires on. I'm betting that the removal of the aero pieces is partly to blame.

I'm going to attempt to find a way to put mine back on after the leveling kit is done this weekend. The leveling kit itself will hurt a little, but putting the aero pieces back on should make up for it.

I knocked mine off offroading. If you think help dramatically , you've been drinking the Kool aid. To the end user there is literally no discernible difference. To a car company needing to meet CAFE requirements , that 0.1 mpg means something

How do you like these tires? I’m on the fence between going with that tire and size or switching to 18’s with aftermarket (lighter) wheels. I spend most of my time on the highway too with the occasional gravel/dirt but no serious off-roading.

They've been great no complaints. Do well in snow and rocky high mountain terrain. They slick over pretty good in clay like mud but they're an at so kind of expected. Have about 50k miles on them now and still have prob 7-6/32 left. I'll prob be replacing them pretty soon but not because they're done for street use but just because they're done for offroading. If I weren't wanting to go to 295/65r20 I'd go back with them again

Edit thought you meant the tire itself not the size. The size is fine. I've done some pretty serious offroading with them and I don't have damaged wheels despite all the people that think as soon as you drive off pavement with 20s they will spo taneously combust or something. I prob would have preferred 18s but my truck came with 20s and so I stuck with them. They're fine.

The Grabber ATX is a really solid tire. Quiet, really good on snow and ice, hold up pretty well, decidedly average in mud.
