    I'm confused as to how those fit properly with the wrong size hub diameter. Chevy center hub size is much smaller.

    Also installed new tailgate handle to fix old cracked one. Greased all the pivots as well. Feels new :)

    I disagree. I've never heard a 4" able to put out even moderately worthwhile sound. Most 6x9s I've installed over the years put out more mid and low-mid than even the punchiest 6.5s. That seems like a downgrade to me :D

    The JBL factory speakers are pretty damn respectable, they just don't have the power driving them.

    Your 03 takes 6×9s? Mine is an 02 and only takes 6.5s. What am I missing here? Can I upgrade mine or does it mean I need to do some metal cutting?

    I'd rather avoid that. Besides, the door panel speaker grill is only wide enough for the 6.5" and angled up from what I recall without taking a look at it. A 6×9 would probably sound somewhat muffled unless I butchered the panel I suppose to open it up more.

    At least in CA it appears they care about bumpers. I thought I would only be lights and some basic start / stop stuff...
    1. Seat belts.
    2. A regular, round steering wheel (not a butterfly-style steering wheel)
    3. A functioning horn.
    4. A hood (and the height of the air intakes may be regulated)
    5. Bumpers.
    6. License plates.
    7. A muffler.
    8. Functioning brakes and an emergency brake.

    In my state, pedestrians have the right of way. Even more so in a cross walk. It's certainly not like that everywhere.

    Elsewhere, I noticed some people speed up if you're in a crosswalk. Probably because the law is more on their side if they hit you.

    I was surprised too but looks like if you leave out the plastic speaker adapter they might fit pretty easily. Now I'm considering doing that. Damn it.

    Pedestrian right of way here as well. Dumbest law ever. Maritime law is sensible. Forget the rest, the largest less maneuverable vessel has the right of way. How many legally correct dead pedestrians are gone because they lost in a vehicle fight?

    Nice! I had those Jensen's in a Plymouth Horizon. I don't have the speakers anymore, but the Craig EQ booster I used with them is in my basement, alongside a Realistic EQ booster with a 1/8" aux input for a Discman! (remember when those were a thing?) That was revolutionary!

    Yep. I still remember the Discman. I wish I still had one since it's the only device I can get approved to use in a closed area which doesn't require OTA reception. Strangely, cassette players are a no-no since they can be converted to record audio.

    I found a "Sony Car Discman ESP" tucked inside a cubby in the unfinished studs the other day, I think it runs on 2AA batts but also has a cord provision. Pay to ship and it's yours ($10, maybe?). I can put new batts in and test function ahead. They only run $30 or so shipped on eBay from my quick look.
