Wanted to install a Ram mount and thought I should ask before I break anything. Need to remove this section…
    64AC5232-977E-4243-9D99-899DCC60D9F8.jpg

    Took the bottom molding off
    D6B64035-B5E9-444B-92D8-3F6E8A509792.jpg

The top section feels like I can remove easily but I’m wondering if the dash would get in my way? Before I pull anything apart, thought it be best to ask the Tundy fam.

    Thanks!

That comes off with gentle persuasion. Dash is no problem.

Too funny. I'd planned on doing the same if I had time today - may have time tomorrow, so I saw this just in time. Still need to run my power bulkhead from fuse panel to the overhead console, since there's no ACC power to the roof on my '06 AC.

Sadly, it's probably going to take me half an hour to find my damn T27 torx bit for the pull handle bolts.

BUT, I messed something up cause now the cab lights don’t come on when I open the driver side door. Oh boy

Locate the plunger for the front door, it has a door plunger on it just like any other appliance if I recall. Trace back from there. My guess is you're gonna find something disco'd behind the kick panel. I need to head down to my truck to take some pics in a sec, I'll check my wiring too and see if I can figure out what you might've done.

So I just went out to take some pics of some oil leaking I found to get some feedback on here. I took a sec to check out how the interior lights turn on/off on my '06 AC and I'm thinking it may be different than yours.

When I open my driver's door, about an inch or two below where its latch is mounted on the rear door, there's a round plunger. That thing is what trips my lights.

I couldn't find a plunger for the rear door, so I'm baffled how it would fire off on yours. But pushing that plunger mounted on the rear door, below the front door's U-latch, makes my interior lights pop off and on.

Nevermind: Just read your other post, sounds like your plunger is flaking out. If you have any contact cleaner (I love Deoxit!) you may try blasting it in from the backside and firing off the button several times.

@empty_lord lord and I need to write up a thread of HOW-TOs for removing interior panels. The only one I don't know the right way is the dash.

Maybe the lower part of the dash with double cigarette plugs. I always break those push pins.

This is a wine drunk ideal so maybe a bad one, but thread could be a sticky. We could cover everything except DC unless I buy one of them too but doubt full. Hands full with crack-tivities

It’s sealed in. I’ll check with stealer on Monday to see how much they cost. Don’t think it’ll be too outrageous

$23 is the full MSRP, so knock 10-20% off

Part number 8423153010 (oh, and it may also come with 4 if the Qty field is correct)

Per this parts page, as shown in this exploded, which suggests there apparently are two of them, though this is for your '03 and not necessarily my '05.

I've gotten a lot of help from others around here, just paying it forward. I'm literally up in the parts website right now making up a parts list this evening, so it was only 2 minutes to redirect and look yours up.

But I'll never turn down a beer.

PS - looks like that exploded is for the DC, but I cross-checked the AC exploded, it also shows same p/n. Here's the proof, both are reference # 84233 and it seems we only have one in AC, is it possible your short is actually with the wiring bulkhead between the rear door and cab?

I believe that's telling you there are 4 on the truck. The MSRP is for a single part.
