At least I have my spare.
Can I get both from a locksmith?

Get the FOB off ebay? Any suggestions
    Thanks

Is your key chipped? Or do you just need a remote?

Not sure if chipped. Is a 2003 Tundra will need a key and remote.

Will the key start the car? I need a chipped key for the 2005 4R, basic blanks won't start it but will unlock it. My 2005 Tundra will use any cut key to start.

If yours starts with the key, get spares cut for about $2 each and programmable remotes from Amazon.

I have a 2006 DC, no chip. Is there a key + remote combo (switch blade style that works). Has anyone had luck with the eBay ones, if so send link

Getting a key made is cheap and easy. Cost me $5 at a locksmith. The key fob is relatively cheap but can be complicated. You have to identify what type of security system your truck has.

My original fob just broke. I searched the numbers barely visible on the back of the key and found a $15 knock off online. Toyota OEM was over $100. Followed the FSM instructions for programming, kinda tedious but not too bad. It works great.

In the past I've bought replacement keys from dealer using the Vin. Don't remember cost but it was reasonable. you get a new key and not a copy which can be kinda sloppy.

I was surprised the 05 4R had one - wish it didn't or I would have spares now. I need to do that...

Yeah I had to try two different style fobs from eBay before I got the right one for my 06. Easiest to just buy one of each and send back the one that refuses to program and buy a spare of the one that works. Or do like I did and buy 2 of one. Try it and if it doesnt work buy the other 2 and send the first 2 back.
