Eibach STAGE 1 … conflicting information

Just purchased the Eibach Stage 1 kit (coils and struts.) I’m getting conflicting info regarding the clip placement. I’ve got a steel bumper (winch on the way). I’ve been told to set the clip on the top setting to be over 3” and the weight of the bumper will help keep the spring rate in check and lower it to below 3”. Others have told me to put the clip on the second from top. What should I do? Please advise!

 

compare the weight of the new bumper and winch, to the factory bumper you took off. If difference is minimal, stay at 2nd clip
