Hey guys I'm Blake I'm 34 live in sac area in California and I have my first tundra. I'm looking for input. I own a 21 tundra limited on 6112 at 1.9" and stock rear. I want a beefier tire. I loved the look of the pros with the next size or two up tire. I bought the BBS pro -02 alloys from sparks, should be here today. Actually got the last 4 of 5 they had. The ones I got were satin the older style was matte. I don't know the difference but apparently the sheen is slightly different.

Anyways. I've only had my 6112's for a couple thousand miles. They drive nice a little more stiff of a ride even at 1.9. I'm not doing crazy wheeling most would be snow with the family or a stretch of washboard roads on the way shooting. I commute 35 miles and our country paved roads aren't kept up the best. My truck is a dream. I have the opportunity to purchase a set of trd pro shocks for 1700. These have 30,000 mi approx on them. My other friend is willing to sell me his later when his kings come in and his have around 20k miles. Since I have the 6112. I can just have the fox's rebuilt. Should I do it? Or should I spend my 1700 elsewhere? IM just looking for that mild aggressive stance and comfortable capable ride and I've read that these fox shocks were tremendous for a do it all setup. Plus I get a extra 1/10th of a inch for tire clearance. It's my first tundra and first brand new truck. Would you devout tundra guys do anything else? I've color matched everything trd away bar tonneau side steps exhaust. My tires only have 7,000 miles on them so I wasn't in a rush necessarily to buy new tires. I've also read that the trd skid shield plate allows more clearance and that is pricey as well. Would you guys recommend anything else for the build?

Thank You for any information and happy new year

I say go for it, and then sell me your 6112’s at a very reasonable price including shipping . Seriously though, the Fox’s are pretty nice kit. Not sure how much of an upgrade over the 6112, but definitely an upgrade. Post some pics of the truck. We like pics.

Run what you have until the 6112’s are smoked. At that time jump to something better. Do a skidplate and sliders instead

Hey @ArdnuT trd quick question: when you say fox shocks are you referring to the TRD Pro fox shocks or just regular fox shocks. TRD Pro fox shocks are non-rebuildable. At 30k (even 20k) they’re close to halfway through their life. I wouldn’t do it if they’re Pros.

They are the trd pro shocks. I was told by the dealer they are rebuild able but it is required at around 50k if use is heavy off-roading

Thanks for the recommendations guys. I do need tires for my new pro wheels as well any recommendations? Bigger than stock with little power suck and like the off roads should've had originally?

If you are at 1.9” do 295/70r18 Falken wildpeak at3w’s and call it good. Excellent tire in the snow. Remove your two front bumper mudflaps.
