Reality set in the first time we came home after a few days in the mountains, open the door to your place, and the first whiff says, "damn ... this place smells like old ppl".

Fortunately the house doesn't smell like geriatric nursing home or mothballs yet, so I'm staying positive.

My wife is a big proponent of those plug-in air fresheners. The smells vary as you move through the house.
The garage smells like burnt metal and used oil always.

No factory tow part option at the dealership. Looks like I’ll be stuck hunting used or trimming my Tacoma one.

@empty_lord and any of the other lords out there; today I jacked up the rear one side at a time, I didn’t feel any kinda of play at 12/6 or 3/9. The only play I did notice was a horizontal movement of the drum/axle, no more than a few mils, equally on each side. Is that small amount of inward/outward play ok? Or abnormal?

The shingles shot is just a shot, no different @Jack McCarthy Some people get a little fluish from it, some get knocked down with flu for 3 days. Shingles is far worse - get the shot.

I've been testing people at work & every time it's been minor cold symptoms (runny nose, or scratchy throat, minor stuff) testing covid positive. The people who seem to be truly sick are, but never with Covid. YMMV

Yeah, I see your stable weather but happen to love my mild 4 seasons and half the taxes, but you go right on ahead and stay over there.

That's the reported data out of UK and S. Africa, top 5 symptoms of this latest mutation are sore throat, runny nose, sneezing, fatigue, persistent headache/fever. Body aches, coughing, trouble breathing like we've heard for others, whether you're ultra healthy or jabbed, aren't commo on this latest Omicrap strain. But really, this is the variant you want to catch out of any so far, super transmissible, but far less chance of dying from it. Granted, I'm not telling you to feel invincible, you never what you'll get or what you got. Even if you got that jab, that's only as effective as bulletproof armor or a seat belt... both are designed to save unexpected hazards destroying your vital bits, but that's the best you're gonna get out of either. All the jabbed folks I know were either asymptomatic or back to normal in 3-4 days or less.

Edit: Worth saying, couple of my people had flu-like symptoms and was actual flu this season. I can't keep up with all this stuff.

    Eh
typically you won’t feel rear bearing play unless it’s like super bad. They make noise well before play

No. If you mean that a c-clip holds it in, then no, the axle is retained by 4 nuts at the ends.

I got the first shingles shot (it's a two shot set) and spent 3 days in bed. It's worth the risk, but be prepared.

I'm thinking I'm going to set it aside for a day before a boring weekend where I don't have anything planned just in case. I did get the flu shot, but maybe that doesnt mean anything with regard to the shingles shot after effects.

Meh. I'd take sick time. But also dunno what your work situation is like on PTO/sick. Whatever you choose, good luck. I need to go in and get it also. Got the pox when I was younger, and both of my in-laws have already had shingles and shared what a goddamn horrific experience it is during flare-ups. Both have gotten it, and had mild to no side effects. Both felt C-19 jab left them feeling worse.

I always get the flu shot (the regular flu shot, not The Stab) and have never had a problem.
