Any cons to having a spare tire that isn’t the same brand but is the same size? I’ve got 315/70r17 nitto ridge grapplers with only 30k on and want to switch them with the new Baja boss A/T’s. Would keeping one of the grapplers as a spare be a bad idea? Hate seeing tires go to waste when there’s still tread life on them. Worst case I’d be selling the 3 extras or just buying the 5th Baja and selling the 4 grapplers as a package.

Forgot to mention that I’ve got a new spare icon rebound I picked up for cheap that the spare would be going on and possibly under the truck…if I can find a way to not beat the hell out of it w daily driving.

Not an issue having a spare of a different brand. But, you might have better luck selling a set of 4 than trying to unload 3 tires. With a matching spare you could do a 5 tire rotation.

Good to know on the spare being ok w different brands and ya I agree a 5 tire rotation would be ideal. Guess I’ll be biting the bullet and getting that 5th tire. Do you know if the tpms in the 5th would throw a code or read if it’s just sitting in the bed or under the truck?

:notsure: I don't know if you can have 5 wheels with tpms sensors. TPMS seems to be slightly different between model years too. I think the tpms can still be read even if it's the one in the spare tire location.
