Woke up feeling better. No longer feverish, and my strength has returned. Joints are still a little sore. Throat is a little scratchy. Nose running a little bit. Heading isn't pouding, and my ears feel normal. No longer tight which means my balance is back to mostly normal.

Heading out to get my brain stabbed this AM.

I got exposed to 2 members of my family this past Christmas Eve who had Covid. Found out Monday but I've isolated myself from most others for the week.

Could be a godsend if I don't have to go to work this coming week and just work from home instead. I'm a little hesitant about getting the swab and ending up in some database with my DNA.

Shit man I remember going to Xmas and NYE parties in our neighborhood as a kid. Parents would all be drinking and there would be queso and desserts and all kinds of finger foods. And the kids would get sparkling grape juice and when we got to be like preteens we started sneaking away with the little 1 or 2 oz bottles of booze our parents would have in a big bowl that practically screamed "take me!" Then we'd illegally pop fireworks within the city limits because fuck it. Everybody did back then. But I guess if you always lived in the country it's different. I'm from a rural town thats slowly being absorbed into Houston over the passed 25 or so years. I give it another 10 years tops and this place will be another suburb

Almost talked my neighbor into a roman candle fight. Used to be the highlight of nye night with 10-15 neighborhood kids showing up with safety glasses. We were on the pasadena/deer park line.

the ones to get are the ones that are tiny mortars. They hit with authority. The ones with sparks and flashes was dust when it got to you.

I was strict about eye protection. Kids couldnt paintball or bb gun war with us unless they had eye pro. Even had a bb get lodged in a kids stomach, but they kept their eyes.

nowadays, i subscribe to more of a you-do-you, but i mention a warning.

I didn't really have a "fun" childhood. My idea of fun was yard work. Picking up sticks, and cleaning up the yard. Cleaning ditches, and other assorted manual labor jobs.

Built up one hell of a work ethic in me though.

I didn't have anybody that lived near me my age until I was 17 or 18. Everybody I knew was on the otherside of the county and that was too far to ask mom and pop to take me. I knew better after that one time... it was too far for them to come get me. I never lived that shit down that one time I was picked up for a b-day party.... I still hear about that from time to time.

    Spilled milk, and harder days.

Happy New Year y'all. Been feeling like one wheel is stuck in a ditch lately so thought I'd start 2022 off right. Found what snow I could yesterday and now running the Mojave the rest of the weekend. MTN2DES?
