Well, that was a disaster! Time to call a professional.

2007 limited wouldn’t go into 4 wheel drive a couple weeks ago. Spent some time on this forum and watching YouTube videos and decided to buy a new transfer case actuator. Replaced the housing along with the 4 high and 4 low gear boxes. Followed the instructions someone posted on a huge thread in this forum in order to set the timing of the gears. Put it back together, started it up, and not only does it make a horrible crunching/grinding noise, but it won’t really shift into drive or reverse. And to add insult to injury the 4 wheel low light is now on and it’s beeping, which is new. This didn’t workout as planned. The good news is that the 4 wheel high light is no longer blinking.

 

That’s a bummer. Hope you get it figured out without too much more cash.

 

I could have written this with every repair or mod I’ve done. Seriously , good luck though.
